Dedicated Server

JumpingJack's Server Instructions:

1. If you belong to this group then look for the server in the server list, if you see my server listed then you can use the server by setting the preferred server as a Steam Group Server as lobby leader.

a) Setup a lobby as you normally would, then click on Edit Game Settings
b) Click on "Server Type" and select "Steam Group Server"
c) Finally, click on Start the Game when you are ready to start, you will be presented with a group server list, simply select "JumpingJack's Server" from the list.

OR

2. If my server is not listed, then it is likely that the server was restarted and has not broadcast itself to the steam server list or has gone into hibernation. If that is the case you will not see my server and cannot join via Steam Group Server options above. Here is what to do:
- Press the ~ key to bring down the console (you must have the console option enabled in settings)
- Issue the command (copy to the clipboard if youi like):

" mm_dedicated_force_servers jlarmstr98.asuscomm.com|27015 "

- Start the game as the lobby leader using the Official Dedicated server option. It will start on my server if it is available, i.e. nobody else playing on it.

Mods on this server:

Rayman1103: This is a famous mod that offers up many game modes, I have it working specifically for Versus CO-OP, which is basically PvE versus.

Laseron!: Generates the laser sights by pressing the "Say" key and typing !LaserOn

Common Infected Count - Dynamically adjust common infected based on current survivor count, scales count based on how many are still alive. Settings give ~ 30% higher common count than a normal game.

Player Stats -- records players zombie kills, special infected kills, frags etc. on this server.

ZBANE server instructions:

Be the Lobby Leader and in the console (tilda ~ key) issue the command:

mm_dedicated_force_servers 192.223.29.236:27015

(exactly as it is shown here) , then start a game with Best Dedicated Server or Official Dedicated. This will force connect it to the group server.

or

Add "mm_dedicated_force_servers 192.223.29.236:27015" line to your autoexec.cfg file in the L4D2\L4D2\CFG folder then just starting a game with search for "official dedicated" server selected and will autoconnect if you are the lobby leader and the server is available.

Then, when you start the game from the lobby it will automatically connect to that server if it is currently idle.
