Most important things first: Yoshiro is retarded, his take on free speech is retarded, the quoted comic is also retarded and Randall Munroe, the ♥♥♥ behind the XKCD comics, is an absolute midwit ♥♥♥♥♥♥. The only reason Yoshiro thinks it's not is because Yoshiro is more retarded than Munroe is. The ban is absolutely unjustified and dishonest, TWI's EULA and discussion rules are garbage, but even according to how these rules and EULA were interpreted and sold to TWI customers by Vice President Alan Wilson, the player didn't violate them. Now, let's unpack.

Free speech aka freedom of expression is a topic maybe too complex to cover in full in a KF2 blog, LMAO, so it's a hard task to tell what it is, but for our purposes it's quite easy to tell what it is NOT.

It definitely not the 1st amendment to the Constitution of the US, which says this:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This amendment to the constitution merely recognizes or acknowledges the RIGHT of people to do these things, which are exercising whatever religion, expressing themselves freely, appeal unjust acts to authority in hopes to obtain justice and so on.

Rights are fundamental to human nature. The founding fathers were speaking of them as things imbued into human nature by our Creator. Although the Constitution or other founding documents like the Declaration of Independence are sort of religiously agnostic, they acknowledge that everything, including humanity, had to come from somewhere. There definitely was some kind of beginning, a big bang or whatever, that gave a start to everything, and who knows was there a sentient being of sorts who started all that or it's just blind nature and thus this "Creator" is largely non-sentient. Regardless, it's somewhat clear that:

1) There was a start and humanity through its generations necessarily had to come from it;
2) There necessarily had to be some forces behind it which we can summarily refer to as the "Creator".

It also is quite obvious that these rights aren't well protected so to speak. These rights can be exercised only as long as they are backed up by the threat of violence, or "might makes right". Basically, people at large tend to disregard each others rights and abuse their own and dismiss their human rights. There's no protection mechanism in the Universe that prevents such an abuse of rights of other humans.

But what can be quite easily observed that societies the humans build are less viable if these rights are violated and most likely inevitably collapse. This is why for a society that aims to last for long it's crucial to respect the human rights, including the freedom of expression.

There's also a whole can of worms on rights vs privileges, but all that is largely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. No matter what you call them, rights or privileges, you have to fight for them and push back against the abusers. A good share of people tend not to recognize your rights to do anything and you have to push back if you want to secure them.

Yes, sometimes it's not viable, e.g. in Soviet Union you would be shot dead by the government if you dared challenging it, so a lot of people had to put their tongues in their assess, but again, Soviet Union didn't last for long, which reinforces the observation that if one pushes against the human rights too hard and too far, there eventually will be a push back and the whole thing collapses.

Getting back to the first amendment, again, it RECOGNIZES the human right. Not confers it on citizens. Not allows the citizens to do it. Instead, citizens have it inherently, as their right. And the Bill of Rights just acknowledges that, because if not, there will eventually be violence, there will be social turmoil. Wise governors recognize that and do their best to avoid.

So, the right to free speech doesn't mean that the government just cannot arrest you for exercising it. It means that a society where this right is observed and respected, regardless of the written law and regardless if it happens in the US of A under the Constitution, is likelier to last longer and likelier to advance the humanity further.

But the XKCD ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Randall Munroe intentionally decides do interpret the right to free speech as if it was just about the 1st amendment. Why?

It also means that we have to listen to one another. Obviously, calling what others say ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ straight up doesn't help with clarifying the thing, it's just a dishonest trick here.

Suppose that 2 persons have a conflict. As simple as to who eats the last piece of ice cream. Or who is the real author of the EndChainsawDebuff function. Or how do we interpret KF2 EULA. Or any other conflict of which we have tons. There are 2 ways to resolve such conflicts.

1. One party dismisses the rights of another party and suppresses their rights.
2. They HAVE to listen to their "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥", or arguments. And find middle ground.

The first way has at least two downsides. It fails to advance humanity further, especially if the argument of the suppressed party was even a little bit more correct than the argument of the suppressing party. It also leads eventually to the accumulation of injustice and eventual violence in an attempt to right the wrongs.

Basically, if we want to resolve the conflicts peacefully and to the benefit of all the conflicting parties, find a middle ground, we HAVE to listen to each other's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

So, again, Randall lies here. Why?

Then, yes, the 1st amendment doesn't shield us from the criticism and consequences. Because the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ started with their deception of framing the right to free speech as narrow as just the 1st amendment, we already know this statement is also deceptive, as its founded on deceptive premises. Then, why mixing consequences and criticism? Criticism is perfectly fine and is a RIGHT way to exercise the freedom of speech rights. We can criticize Tripwire. Tripwire can criticize our criticisms. Theoretically, if done in good faith, this leads to finding the middle ground and settling the conflict.

But why bringing up the "consequences"? Like, when muslims shoot people dead in the center of Paris for Mohammad's cartoons, as an example. Does this Randall ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hint that it's the consequences he welcomes?

Then, if you are being boycotted, your show cancelled, or you are banned from the internet community, your free speech rights ARE violated. Absolutely and unambiguously. But, we already know, that by relying on this deceptive flipping trick, the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ substituted the right to free speech with the 1st amendment, which isn't violated in this case, if the government isn't involved.

And finally, if the people deem you an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and use it as grounds to violate your free speech rights, it keeps being a violation of free speech rights.

Basically, some dude on KF subreddit says that he enrolled in the KF3 beta and when it came down to providing feedback he discovered that the google form is not available for anonymous access. It requires Google account to fill out.

Isn't it weird? Isn't it preposterous? I say yes to both.

Now let's speculate what could have been going on behind the scenes. Also, to the best of my knowledge, we've never had TWI explaining this BS, FYI.

I can see two options:

1. Surveys and similar ♥♥♥♥ is typically what community managers handle. So, Yoshiro and Molly. Since both are retarded, they've created a free survey and just forgot to check if it's accessible anonymously or by a unique URL sent out to each participant, but not discoverable if there's no link. Seems most plausible to me.

2. They made it intentionally requiring Google login. Yeah, a lot of people have it anyway. I do through the YT account which I had for like 10+ years. I think they merged them at some point and now it's google account also, I guess. But some people don't, obviously. Others wouldn't do it just for privacy reasons. So, by requiring google account, they have to intentionally narrow down the already small amount of testers. My estimation is they had maybe ~5K closed beta testers. Say, 2/3 won't bother filling out the survey. Out of the remaining 1.6K about 1/3 won't do it due to either privacy reasons or due to not having an account. That leaves them with just ~1K players who at least start filling it out.

Why would they require a login intentionally? They've been surveying KF2 players for years. But all these surveys AFAIR were anonymous. They were all extremely retarded BTW and oftentimes just had no good option to select from, LMAO, making ANY feedback option retarded.

Maybe some trolls found a way to abuse the anonymous survey system to send them ♥♥♥♥ you ♥♥♥♥♥♥s message or something? Seems unlikely. The amount is small anyway and it kind of lame to troll it this way.

As an example, I have a ton of haters here on Steam. Almost every message I post here gets reported. I can't even talk to people in comments to my own profile, LMAO, as most messages are reported and removed and now it looks like a wall of random steam users talking with ghosts, LMAO.

Yet, with all that, none of my surveys I've been running was rigged, as far as I can tell. I know player sentiment regarding any KF2 question anyway by just playing it consistently and talking to people. So, most if not all surveys I've done show results that are highly plausible. Nobody trolls with them or rigs them. Cause it's lame.

So, all that taking into account, I'm inclined to think it's just another case of TWI community managers failing to manage the community. Another ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in a long list of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Tripwire gave me a game ban because I shared a post with my friends on my private memes channel. They refuse to take appeals. So I'm writing an open letter as it's the only way I have of contacting them.

Amazingly, TWI's community manager Yoshiro commented on this poor dude's post, the essence of his comment basically is confirming the dude's TLDR and resuming the issue with "get ♥♥♥♥♥♥" attitude. Yoshiro quotes the EULA paragraph that got this dude banned:

Now try to reconcile this case with the promises Alan Wilson was giving out when they amended their EULA (which is basically the same for all their games) to include these draconian clauses that they think allow them to ban anyone for anything.

Wilson promised they aren't going to ban anyone for:

* using strong language;
* offending someone.

Yes, their EULA says they will, but actually they will not, trust me, bro. It's just they have to put this into their EULA so they have a recourse if someone does this:

First thing that determines this ♥♥♥♥♥♥'s whole image is, obviously, the fact that he was the mastermind behind all the scheming on kicking out his former friend and coowner John Gibson from the company they started together. According to Gibson, they conspired behind the scenes, sold Gibson the idea that it's just a PR trick that he steps down in order to placate the baby killing twitter harpies. But then, unbeknownst to Gibson, they cut him off from the company's management and simply kicked him out. What ♥♥♥♥♥♥ would do such a thing to his friend? Why would he do it?

From what I recall, TWI's ownership was divided between 3-4 people, one obviously is the biggest talent John Gibson himself, the other is Bill Munk, the animator, the third is Alan Wilson and maybe someone else.

Well, Gibson is a talented programmer who developed a whole lot of all their games code, from RO/RS games, through KF1 and to KF2. Bill Munk did a very good job porting the mocaps of the guns handling and stuntmen movements to in-game guns and in-game pawn movements. It really was a good job that made KF2 an outstanding game at the time with very realistic mocapped weapon and monster animations. We know all that from all their diary videos, interviews and media publications. But what's the input of the backstabber Wilson? I never quite understood it. What exactly it was he was doing to contribute, except his backstabber scheming, obviously?

I have no idea. He doesn't look like a programmer. Not a single class from all the codebases from all their games I've seen was marked as authored by Alan Wilson. Was his job to just run the accounting and talking to people? Is he just a smooth talker who just talked his way into the position he had, due to the geeks like Gibson not being verbally skilled enough and having a tendency to be forgiving and never pushing back against anything?

The state of the player feedback review in TWI is abysmally bad, as has been documented here over the years. He barely even plays TWI games, preferring to, I quote, "dabbling in Fortnite" LMAO. He barely communicates anything, except official corporate ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Both their community managers did a lot to alienate the hardcore players from this company's games and the company itself. I say he fails at his job. Utterly.

Their relationship with the community is at all times low. Think about it, they wouldn't even have to put such rules on any fan forums under their control and their EULA if they weren't at war with their fans. Now they reserved themselves the right to ban anyone for anything and I am not exaggerating in the slightest here. Who's to blame? They would, of course, say, it's their fans to blame. But never it is the fans. Fans are their most dedicated customers and the base of their business model. They can't hate their fans and be in this business at the same time. For long, at least.

Then, think about the cause of that ban. Supposedly, a meme shared on this player's private discord's meme channel was abusive and there was someone who didn't like it. This is it.

On the other hand, I thought for a moment about what is it that needs to be done to detach the characters from classes? Although I never did ♥♥♥♥ in UE5 and have no idea, but I know a few things about how KF2 works. And from that perspective, if in KF2 the characters would be tied to classes, it would take me about 1 day of hard work to make a mod to detach them. Given that Tripwire is a 100+ employees company (all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, BTW) it may take much time, as they have to waste weeks on communication and getting themselves on the same page, yes. So, still, no more than 2 weeks.

What is there to change in the first place? What is the body of work?

I couldn't come up with anything but some character voice lines (which all suck anyways in KF3 because of the DEI character design, so I wouldn't mind if specific lines were removed) and just bypassing the "if... then..." code snippet that makes it not possible to choose proper character while a previously incompatible class is selected. This takes them 5 months to fix.

I can sort of understand if it takes 5 months to do this work for an old bureaucratized monster company like Siemens. But a 100 employees company?

* new mocap for monster and weapon animation vs reuse of the prior KF2 animations, amount of animations per monster total, total length of animations in time;
* head vs body HP ratio average and per monster;
* design goals on shots to kill for different classes with different weapons;
* realistic vs scifi or even toy scifi design goals for weapons, monsters, environment;
* gore, giblets, dismemberment, physics.

Heard none about it. Predictably. This is something Nikita would talk about now, or TWI did back in the day, but not anymore.

So, this post was planned as a QRD of that presentation, but ♥♥♥♥ it. I think I posted enough about KF3 in the last 1.5 years, I think everything is pretty clear and transparent about this game.

It's not a game for me or people like myself. It's uninspired goyslop. It barely has anything to do with KF franchise or KF idea as a game. It's a Doom spin off, as I predicted it would be >1 year ago, with some KF-related appearance to it. It may become successful, who knows, some people have a blast playing tetris LMAO.
