So...first of all, I hope all of you here are doing spectacular.

It's been a hot minute. This weekend has been the first time I've logged into Steam consistently in a while, but it was worth it to talk to some friends and meet some new people.

But I just played a couple of Ranked matches (mainly for small bits of s$#ts and giggles) some minutes ago, and had my booty spanked so bad that it's most likely hypothetically raw and bleeding.

But that's not to say I didn't have fun.

It's so rare to feel the way that I did with those matches that often, because honestly, I don't play Street Fighter anymore.

Or rather (I gotta bring that one back), I don't play often anymore. And that's because of a plethora of things, but for right now I wanna take a moment and speak to those who still play considerably.

I not-so-recently got a job as a Dance Instructor at a Fred Astaire Dance Studio here on the East Coast.

And although that's not really big news, it's opened up my eyes to a lot of new things, and reinforced what I already stuck to in the past.

To get better at anything, there must be commitment of some kind.

It's rare for anyone to pick something up, dabble with it for a few minutes or a few days or a few weeks or even a few months, and come out a Jedi Master on the Council.

That shi$ just doesn't happen.

And seeing others dance who have aspirations to be competitive in that community, and seeing others play Fighting Games with the desire to be better, and having my a$$ handed to me on a silver platter with some perfume and roses and a small note that read, "It tasted so nice, thank you very much," has heightened my awareness to that simple fact.

PERFECTION COMES FROM PROGRESS, AND PROGRESS IS REPETITION.

There's no other way around it.

And I know that I don't play Street Fighter that much anymore, but for those of you that do, and especially for those of you who want to get better, and who grind and grind, and for those of you who seek those who can teach you and for those of you who teach those that want to learn from you...never forget those words.

There is no better way to get good at anything than by doing it.

I'm trying to usher in more time for all of you willing to participate here on FSUF a little bit at a time...so I organized an upcoming Event for the Group next Saturday at 8.

In my spare time however, I've started tinkering with another game that has intrigued me more and more as time has gone on...and that, my good friends, is Tekken.

I've been taking a break from Street Fighter for a bit and have begun to explore other paths on this long road called Fighting Game Lane...this has had me visit places like Persona 4 Ultimax, Dead or Alive, and even Soul Calibur.

And although I'd came across those smaller towns when I was kid, it never occured to me to try and fully explore any other fighting game besides Street Fighter.

Why?

Well, it wasn't because I didn't like them, I obviously played them.

And it wasn't because I thought I couldn't get any good at them, if I put the time into each title as I did Street Fighter I most likely would've gotten the same amount of skill as I did with that title.

I think that the only reason I didn't do so was because of a word that has us all stick to one thing and never truly branching out.

FAMILIARITY.

Street Fighter isn't (and was never) foreign to me, and as a result I always loved to play it. Even when I got bodied, lol.

All of the others seemed a bit more complex in a way, and so I never really had a desire to touch them.

Not to mention that I always thought that SF was the coolest of the litter. It's characters and music just trumped everything else to me, and it still does to a degree.

But as I've grown older, it's gotten more and more important to me to branch out when I can and try new things.

Not only in video-games mind you, but in reality as well.

Sometimes it can make us smarter, more interesting people.

...sometimes, lol.

I've been lazy these past few weeks due to work and school, so I haven't been online very much at all here on Steam.

Just wanted to send a warm message to all of our Members here at FSUF before I split again for other business, and wish everyone nothing but progress and great amounts of learning.

If you've stopped playing SF for any reason, I understand.

Sometimes, if the going gets tough the best thing to do is take a deep, deep breath and take a little break from what's frustrating you.

You'll feel A LOT better once you jump back into it. :D

And for those of you still climbing Grind Mountain, I hope that you grow stronger with each stumble and each victory.

We all get better when all of us get stronger.

This is to give everyone in the Group a chance to Qualify from one of our Events, and prevents Members in FSUF from attempting multiple times over others in a chance to make it to our "Extravaganza."

Everyone keep an eye out on our Group page for future updates, but for now everyone have a good one and stay safe!

Announcements are a good way of keeping our Members in the loop.

They seek to inform everyone here in FINALSUPERULTRAFIGHT about our latest Winners, are used to share constructive ideas, and also let everyone know about any changes in the scheduling of our Events well ahead of time.

So whenever I create an Announcement or an Event, CLEARLY spell out the criteria for Registration and receive minimal or no responses from our Members, I'm almost always okay with that. That tells ME that everyone is too busy or doesn't care enough to participate at that time. I understand this completely, as I fully realize that we all have our own important schedules, priorities, and responsibilities.

But when I put up an Annoucement or an Event, receive nothing, and then have Members messaging me asking WHEN our Events are happening, at WHAT time, and then even messaging me AFTER the Event has started (without Registering AT ALL) and the brackets are full, that's just ridiculous.

I'll always be as courteous and understanding as possible to everyone who decides to join FSUF, but the levels of responsibility and care here are extremely lacking.

When I post an Annoucement I KNOW that it pops up on everyone's Steam browsers in one way or another. Each and every one of my Announcements have been informative, so I know that if anyone messages me late or with questions after an Event has started it's because they neglected to read what I spent time to put up on our GROUP PAGE.

I suppose that this is what makes me puzzled the most.

Relationships of any kind are a two way street. If one party gives everything to ensure that the relationship is kept afloat, but receives nothing from the other, then it's destined to fail eventually.

Effort needs to be made (even in a small way) by both parties to ensure the continued prosperity of their relationship to one another.

I don't feel enough effort from the Members of this Group as a whole, and it bothers me a f%ck ton sometimes.

All it takes is one click of a button to check our messages whenever we go online. If we all did that, then things would never stay green or unread and we'd never be in the dark about anything. When I go online I ALWAYS check out my messages or notices if I see I have any. It's just easy to do once I've logged on.

I woke up late today after staying up all night, went to workout, got things ready for work tomorrow, ran errands, AND am about to go workout again after I'm finished organizing my music and writing this salty rant. And I still have time to make Announcements and check my messages. To me, there's no excuse. It's just laziness, or a lack of care.

Oh, and the excuse TLDR (Too Long Didn't Read) has never, and will never fly with me. If you don't have the energy or care to read a few paragraphs, then either suck it up and read the paragraphs, or skim through and find Key Words so that you get the gist of what was being written.

What I'm saying here doesn't only apply to this Group, by the way.

It applies to LIFE as well, and everything that comes with it.
