Counter-Strike Entry League

CSEL Open is CSEL’s most accessible league, allowing new and intermediate players to compete in a league oriented towards helping players learn the game, without the distractions of matchmaking, or any forms of discrimination based on out of game factors. CSEL focuses on the game and the players, providing an environment we believe is preferable to matchmaking of any kind, and focusing on a skill level lower than most other leagues.

Happen to be a higher ingame rank, or have thousands of hours in CS? No worries! More experienced players are encouraged to join teams of lower-skilled players to teach the basics. CSEL rarely denies applications from more skilled individuals. Some stipulations include:

-Must never have competed at a semi-pro or pro level
-Must not join in teams consisting of multiple highly skilled players (we want to spread out the highly skilled players so the lower level players all have assistance)
-Must follow more strict guidelines to ensure no abuse of lower level players occurs

Want to help out, but don’t play CS much anymore, or aren’t interested in playing? Many non-player positions are available:

-Substitute (While still playing the game, you will only fill in for other players unable to compete. This position can be combined with all other positions with an ‘*’ in this list)

-Coach (Unlike the IGL, this position allows people of any skill level, including semi-pro and pro, to help the IGL/Captain of the team train lower level players, come up with tactics, and organise team meetings/practice. While teams do not require a coach, it can help greatly)

-Media Manager * (Runs all CSEL social media, including live-tweeting, makes teams for twitch streaming and running various social media)

-Manager * (Runs CSEL. Attends weekly meetings. Allowed to compete if all other requirements are met, but cannot Manage the league while competing. Owns a portion of CSEL, which they manage and keep track of, submitting weekly reports and taking input from players, viewers and other managers)

-Caster For CSEL (Live commentates matches or analyses finished matches. Anyone is allowed to take this role, but cannot also compete)

-Independent Caster (For Twitch Streamers. Stream live matches for your viewers. )
