ABOUT Age of Empires II: Modders and Map Makers

The Officially Unofficial group for modders or mapmakers of the greatest RTS of all time!!!!

This group is open to anyone, but it is primarily geared towards those who wish to contribute to the Steam Workshop for the upcoming Age of Empires II: HD Edition which releases to a great fanfare on April 9th 2013.

Invite anyone who is a fan of the series Age of Empires!
If you know a capable modder, PLEASE invite them to this group.
You would do us an invaluable service!!!

This group is not strictly for mod/mapmaking discussion. That is the main focus, but we can plan some events that anyone could participate in. (4v4 Deathmatch on custom map by ____, 8 player free for all using ____ mod).

We could have a tournament, where members can assemble teams and compete for games or simply bragging rights.


This group will be fully fleshed out on April 5th, but until then.... WOLOLO on!

What about adding age of chivalry? It's not compatible with aok HD yet but one of the best mods out there.

If anyone still need checks this group, I need help with a scenario of aoe2. I am making a scenario where you start with a scout and for every kill you get, you get a new unit, similar to gun game of cod. If the unit dies it respawn a the same unit. The problem is that when you get a kill and become a new unit, if you die you respawn as the first unit(scout cavalry). If you could help me with the triggers that would be great.Also I made a map of Europe and the civs and locations and aliences are Set up liked like WWI. Thanks

Short description how to add rms to the workshop:

Use the workshop inside the game. Then 'Add'. Browse to the folder where the rms is located (should be the folder 'random'). Set type to 'All' in the selection. Then put *.rms to the filename. Otherwise you can't see any scripts. Select your script. Release Object. Add title, description and a picture using 'Preview'. Don't forget to select 'randomscript' as Modtype! That's all. Btw. The selection for 'random map script' in the Workshop search isn't working. Shows, how carefully everything was tested by HP...
