Took a bit to get the feel for it but once everything started to click this became one of my favorite games. Highly recommend if you are down for a challenge.

....But for the love of god FS, PLEASE stop forcing me to sit through loading up the main menu when I am trying to quit your games. When I am relentlessly getting my ass kicked trying to learn a boss move-set and want to rage quit out of the game, and then I have to sit there white knuckled while I wait for your stupid names to flash across the screen, click the main screen, wait for my save file to be found, scroll down, and THEN finally quit to desktop, it really makes me want to punch a hole through my monitor. Next title please add a "save and quit to desktop" option. Thank you.

One of the most satisfying experiences you can have is when a fight finally clicks and turns into that epic parry-rhythm battle. I returned after a long break to get the remaining endings and achievements and I fell in love with the combat, visuals and sound all over again.

If you are here after Elden Ring or other fromsoft games, don't go into it with the same mindset and expectations since Sekiro is its own. For example, while dodging has its place, parrying is king to win that posture battle. Good luck, ninja! :)

Japanese Bloodborne

There's not much to say about Sekiro. It has amazing combat with plenty of things to learn and skills to master. The game is merciless in it's teaching but if you listen to the game and what it tries to teach you, you will improve without a doubt and at a certain point the game will become easy and very fun. And there's no other way (mostly), you simply need to get good.

The story is fine, it's much easier to follow than other Souls games'. It's not as obscure and there's plenty of lore you can find. The game takes inspiration heavily from Japanese folklore and some of the stuff (references) can fly above players' heads.

Game has multiple endings and they are very obscure. Other than that the game has plenty of content to keep you playing and doesn't overstay it's welcome like many others. My playtime includes more than multiple playthroughs, boss rushes and challenges. This is definitely the best game I had pleasure to play in my life. It's also my favourite.

Better than Elden Ring no hate

tier 1 game, but not for casuals (rivers of blood enjoyers) or new players in souls-like games, first few hours you will suck very hard, but after you gonna enjoy every pixel on your screen, 10/10
