~Too punishing a game in all. When red + die loss of levels so you cant equip is just rubbish, especially with a grind like this,. The loss of ability to use your sword or not being able to afford a stack of the spells - kinda dumps on your whole day. It's not just a challenge to regain what you lost over 60 minutes. It's too much like hard work. I already have a job, and that one pays real money. When the risk vs reward vs penalty is ironed out i will take another look.

This game is pretty decent. Good conepts..its EA so it needs some mroe content/work but overall has been pretty fun. The people hating on this game are WoW players who need a giant ! over every quest npc, Map markers and refuse to read. This game doesnt hold your hand, a very old school feel. recommend for any AC players or DF players

I have spent one day of my life playing this early access game, fully knowing what "type" of game it is (EA/MMO/HC/SANDBOX/OPENWORLD). That being said, I have not even reached the open world pvp area of the game, yet 24 hours in I still feel like I know nothing about it or the systems it has in place. This game throws 20+ years of game evolution out the door in favor of systems that "don't hold your hand" in a way that discourages players from playing it. At a maximum level of 16 on the tutorial area, which is apparently a newly instituted max level for this area, there are level 8 enemies that will still wreck you. These enemies may be meant for you to group up with other players in the vein of being an "oldschool RPG,", but it's hard to group up with an increasingly dwindling player base. Steam charts claims a peak of 150ish players today, with 77 playing right now, which is ALMOST half of players from when I started two weeks ago. There is almost no one on the tutorial island section of the game tonight, I saw maybe three other players in the main town on the tutorial. Global chat has been barely used the last couple nights, aside from people buying, selling or looking for T3/4/5/6 gear which I couldn't even tell you what that is aside from being obviously better gear. They were getting no responses either. This game is killing itself with simply being inaccessible to average players. If a game like Mortal Online, which is highly similar in construct, but has been around for more than a decade, is barely scraping by, how is this game setting itself apart from that demographic? I do not enjoy Mortal Online at all, but find myself drawn to this game due to having a stronger early sense of PVE focus, albeit clunky due to the messy melee combat. The in-game community is relatively helpful, but routinely treats you like an ingrate that should already know what you're doing or how you're building your character. The crumbs of bread they give you should be enough, right? Asking what is a strong build leads to questions of "what do you want to do in the game?" Well I don't know what I want to do, or what I want to be profession-wise, and If someone has to ask how they should build their character in order to defeat enemies on the tutorial island I think that should speak for itself. Other reviews claim that not much changes after the tutorial island, and that many assets are reused routinely. I don't know that I'll make it off the tutorial island to see if that's true at this point, but that last thing I'll say is that the small, dedicated community does not seem to realize they are already on life support and are tripping over the plug keeping them alive.

Excellent old school MMO, has huge potential. Quite the grind, but fun.
