This regular patch is dedicated to optimization, bug fixes and some gameplay changes.

• Equipping/unequipping cooldown system was reworked. Fixed some situations, when a player cannot change hotbar equipment and attack (ATL-1633). In addition, the new system works better with high ping. Known issues: bears’ roar sometimes doesn’t apply disarm, disarm applied by vocational abilities has minor visual issues.
• Swamps: slow effect removed from footbridges and walk paths.
• Loot in openworld ruins now can randomly yield parcels.
• One handed weapon damage reduced by 5%. Attack distance buffed by 0.15m. Changes to attack distance should fix some of the issues with melee hit registration.
• Improved server stability, related to recent crashes (ATL-1896).
• Gwasgar - optimization, no freeze upon entering a city.

Hi all, my name is Dima. I'm a project manager at Reign of Guilds. Vatslav invited me to help him with work organization, so he can focus on the game design aspect of Reign of Guilds.

First of all I want to streamline internal processes, set up bugfix, testing and creation of new content for the game. Besides, we currently are hiring more developers and artists.

I'm happy to be part of the Atlant Games team and the community of Reign of Guilds players. Together we can take the game to a new level :)
Let take a look at the numbers behind our decision regarding DBV. DBV is Dynamic Balance of Vendors. It is the mechanic when the NPCs change their prices depending on players' interactions with the NPCs.

The status of the EU server:

• From May 3 to May 11 after we blocked many accounts for duping and RMT, money supply decreased by 17,3%, not taking into account 20k+ expensive items and powders.
• After the patch with DBV money supply decreased even more by 9.2%.
• 100k compensations we gave after the rollback, increased mony supply by 14%
• After it, it decreased by 3.3%

We planned to have -5% money supply per week and gradually return to more comfortable coefficients of DBV. We've achieved it, therefore we now are relaxing DBV values.

The main goal was simple - we didn't want economy to die after the initial duping and uses of bugs. We also managed to fix the most terrible duping, it has become a much more modest and quiter abuse of some mechanics (no details :) ), we are taking care of it as well.

About good things:

• Balance DBV increased in 1.5 times for all traders. Which will make cooldowns faster and prices more stable in relation to the volumes of trade
• Taking into account the statistics, we significantly relaxed the values of DQB (Dynamic Quest Balance)
• up to 6 times increased frequency of cooldowns, and up to 2x - increased thresholds of the number of completions;
• DQB - is a similar system: the questgiver raises the requirements for the quest while the reward is left unchanged, when many players complete this quest.
• we'll keep an eye on the configurations of the items spawned in the world and loot from mobs, which also result in the increase of the money supply
• we've reset the tables of DQB

• Added slow down in muds in all counties (ATL-1721)
• Added frames for icons of concentrated powders (ATL-1723)
• Fixed when R1 powders disappeared after transfer through the loading zones
• Fixed cases when tax revenues were not recorded to the database
• Some fixes of bug abuse

Dear friends!

This patch aims to fix the large portion of the bugs when players lose their hotbar settings. Meanwhile, as a compensation for the progress lost during Tuesday rollback we added 100k talers for each player who is of higher than 10.10 level.

Patch notes:
Duping:

• Fixed a loophole for duping - the simplest in terms of reproducibility and the most complex in terms of code;

Knowledge Base:

• New sections added;
• Trigger volumes added for opening/notifications;

Dwarrhan:

• In T1 counties, the mob level has been completely reworked:
• On average, the mob level near starting villages has been reduced by 2 levels;
• On average, the mob level in other spawners has been reduced by 4 levels;
• The transition between spawner levels has been softened;
• Now, the maximum mob level on the surface in T1 counties = 15;
• Ecosystem:
• Weakened by 4 times for all regular mobs;
• Weakened by 10 times for rare mobs;
• Turned off for locations with mini-bosses, swamps;
• DVB:
• Increased the maximum price limit by 15 times;
• Slowed down the rollback of DVB to its original state;
• Enabled DVB on NPC recyclers;
• Increased DVB for a number of NPCs;

Rivulet Island:

• Introduced a maximum level restriction (16);
• Characters above level 16 have been sent to Harbour (with the payment of the Island tax);

Powders:

• Added recipes for powder boiling:
• This is the repeated boiling of powders to obtain a concentrate;
• Powders receive the suffix R1;

• Effects of R1 on buffs:
• -5% to bonuses;
• +15% to duration;
• Resistance to character demise (do not remove upon death);

Satiety:

• Added influence on Max MP;
• Added influence on HP Regen
• Also, the significance of HP regen will be increased by the next patch;
• Reduced the penalty for energy and its regen, increased for Max HP and MP for the value (0);
• General changes to bonuses/maluses for satiety;

Changed:

• Druid healing powders no longer consume stamina;

Fixed:

• The appearance of the Tabula Rasa window during transitions;
• Hotbar (the logic of loading has been tightened, which should affect its reset during transition);
• Reset of DBV for a number of traders;
• A number of errors with checks for space in inventory/containers;

Today’s patch is released later than planned due to the need for additional preparation of new equipment (servers).

In this patch, in addition to focusing on the dupes, we tried to pay attention to those aspects that caused the greatest resentment from the community, and that could be quickly added/modified.

Patch Note:

• Dupes:
• after the first wave of bans we received a detailed description of 2 dupe methods and 1 dupe speeding method;
• fixed:
• 3 dupe methods (1 known, and 2 “new” ones);

• In-game Knowledge base:
• added the basic content with localization;
• next step - adding events for automatic opening of tips on first time playing;

• PvP balance and damage formula:
• Amount of HP/MP gained every level increased to 100 (from 50);
• the approach to additional damage is changed;
• Experience gain increased up to 20% in both PvE and PvP to compensate the decrease of big bonuses for high defense and attack difference;
• all of those actions should decrease the amount of “OneShot” situations happening without much intervention to “equal” characters duels;

• Melee weapons:
• density of a physical scene is drastically increased in calculations:
• amount of traces increased for additional 50%;
• 1H and 2H have their damaging area increased up to 25% and 50% respectively;
• trace radius increased up to 25%;
• fixed the timing issues for some of the attacks (the start and density of traces);
• these changes make hitting the target in melee a bit easier and should make it more predictable;

• Powders:
• Amount of brewed powders with the use of personal cauldrons increased:
• from 25% for T1;
• up to 100% for T6;
• mages’ economy is not particularly good right now, choosing between increasing the resource spawn and cauldron yields we chose the second;
• The buff longevity increased drastically:
• to 30 minutes for “long” buffs;
• to 15 minutes for “short” buffs;
• this is without powder heating;
• adding to that, we will introduce “powder boiling” in the next patch that will ease buff powders use and will add means for dispel counter;
• Dispels/Cleanses:
• changed their logic to projectile;
• the range, projectile speed and amount of buffs dispelled now depends on powder level;
• our aim is to make dispels an alternative tactic for some of the builds;

• Max level system for locations:
• On the Island after getting 16 level the character will stop getting experience;
• characters that are much higher than 16th level on the island will be transported to Dwarrhan during the next week;
• we will activate that system once all the characters will be transported;
• we see the negative effect of OP characters in starter locations, that do PK during prime time and lock the Black zones for new players;

• AI:
• another stage of optimization;
• (test) max AI for a single server increased for 55%;
• changed maths(AIManager) of restricting the amount of AIs for more even AI spread;
• added spawners that ignore the AIManager rules;
• spawners with the prevailing type of mobs added to dense forests that are seen on the map;
• all Black Zone spawners now ignore the limits of AIManager;
• excessive logging were turned off;
• Next step - ecosystem changes aimed at making it easier, and turning it off on some of the spawners;

• Castles:
• (Brabat) fixes of the taxation zone;
• fixed the UI issue that prevented players from filling castles with high level elixirs for full period;
• fixed incorrect levels of castle guards;

• Added:
• additional logging for players actions (more on that in separate article when the whole system of asset and economic control will be in place);
• New portal system for Brabat/Oer conties;

Dear friends!
We will start by discussing the historical and current state of affairs at our studio, as there have been quite a few speculations and misunderstandings.

Here are some facts:

• We launched in early access with a team of 8 people (including the CEO and CM);
• The maximum size of the studio was 17 people (mid-2019);
• The average staff size in 2023-24 was less than 10 people;
• Our studio has never had a specialized investor, nor investments from the gaming industry, and the entire project was created through self-funding;
• In the first two weeks of sales, after deducting refunds, taxes, and Steam's commission, the studio received the entire annual budget for 2023, for which we thank our community.
• currently we are expanding the team, as 8 people are not able to support even current amount of active players;

Therefore, as the head of this project, I clearly see the absolutely legitimate complaints and demands from the community regarding the low quality of both the project itself and its support. However, I ask you to be patient and give us the opportunity to stabilize the work on the project by expanding the studio's staff.
In the first 20 days, we focused on the most critical issues (critical server/client errors, as well as blocking errors): complex server physics criticals were fixed (which even a full dump did not help to find), as well as client render criticals.

On 04/24, on the third day, we rolled out fixes during prime time for what's called "UI", which extended far beyond the client issues.

It's not possible to say that all critical/blocking issues have been fixed yet, but at the moment we have a significantly better situation, including total server stability.

For the coming week, our entire team is focused on less extensive tasks, and mainly on support and processing of reports/suggestions.

The practice of deploying patches during prime time, as well as patches without patch notes, has been stopped.

Patches will now be released on 09:00 to 10:00 (GMT+0) on TUE/THU
Contrary to the prevailing belief that we ignore reports and do not monitor what's happening, we will soon be hiring a full-time employee whose sole function will be monitoring and enforcement.

Players should also understand that the debriefing will take place including retrospectively for players who have already distinguished themselves.

After the implementation of all services that partially automate the monitoring of duping and RMT, we will discuss them in general terms, as awareness of high risk from the community side is a more effective method in establishing and adhering to game rules.

The game now has an additional EULA, that will allow us to completely block characters/accounts, for abusing in-game mechanics (“Exploit bugs or glitches to gain a competitive advantage;”)

We want to warn our community in advance, that “harmless” abuse, such as:

• leveling using logouts;
• leveling/farming using archmage flight abuse;
• pickpocketing cooldown abuse;

Will result in an account/character blocking for n days at best. And such things as RMT and dupes will result in a permanent account ban.

• Damage formula:
• bonus damage cap reduced 3 times;
• bonus damage gain speed reduced 7 times;
• bonus damage could become 140% from base damage, which led to unexpectedly fast kills
• these changes does not touch base damage, which is based off attack-defense difference with certain modifiers;

• for now, there is no difference between yellow and blue portals;

A big question of the last few days - our attitude to the XP abuse through logging out. Let’s start from the reverse side of the medal:

• the game was launched without our additional user agreement, so everything is regulated by the Steam Subscriber Agreement:
• Everyone can familiarize themselves with para. 4 to examine the list of violations that are the grounds for blocking in terms of "process tampering";
• the zero degree of complexity and the set of actions that needed to be done by users in order to break the unstable foundation of the mechanics of the "PvE leveling" is so small that in most games is not even recognized as an abuse;

On the other hand, we want to initially create a normal relationship with the community, so that each of the players understands:

• no matter how inconvenient our position may be due to the factors described above,
• we have come up with a really interesting response for a group of people who are well aware of what they are doing:
• the karma level is reduced to "Psycho" +100 points, i.e. the borderline between "Psycho" and "Ugly";
• 15 times so that 250 karma costs at least 375k;
• this counter will begin to gradually decrease after 30 days and by day 60 it will reach the normal 25k for 250 karma;

The solution may seem controversial, but we see in it a benefit for the community, instead of just delevelling, or illegal blocking.
