It achieves exactly what it set out to do: a puzzle platformer based around moving like a snake. No jumps, no new moves or abilities, just slither and grip your way through 15 levels full of collectibles and platform challenges. It's incredibly frustrating while you haven't learned to utilize these two simple mechanics properly, but super satisfying once you do. Good soundtrack to try and calm us down, and great level-design that you can exploit if your creativity compels you.

Pro tip: don't underestimate the grip function. Platforming requires patience here, so gripping with the parts you have coiled to give you stability as you set the next coiling step is essential for success.

Warning: lots of people over the years have complained about random stutters during gameplay. Most recommend fiddling with graphic settings and accepting this isn't an optimized game, but I noticed all my hitches happen whenever a friend was sending a message or launching a game, so disabling Steam Overlay solved all my issues.

Controls are just AWFUL!

The devs have obviously not played this.

Fun and challenging. There's some quality of life stuff it's lacking (like if you were interested in the time trials, there's no easy way to tell what position you are in on the leaderboard without loading the full list, you just get the 5-ish players around you and that's it, it'd also be nice to get some sort of indicator on # of times died, checkpoints hit, water touched, etc for those various challenges.) If there's ever a snake pass 2, I think a map editor with a score multiplier based on how fast it's finished and what additional challenges you took to finish a level would be a fun add that would increase the amount of playability. Ended up taking a little over 14 hours to 100%, mostly because the water challenge would be void if even a pixel of tail dipped into water, even if it happened offscreen. I think a more fair way to handle that challenge would have been to only count it as "in water" if the game switches you to the swimming controls.
