Finally updated game, and didn't fix a single issue. But now the mods I used to fix it, don't work. Another classic Todd move.

as usual they break the game with a ♥♥♥♥ update, ultrawide "update" doesnt scale UI and broke old mods that fixed it correctly.

Next Gen update after well over a year of work includes...some content that was made by modders, not Bethesda.

Zero real bugfixes, no actual UW support, PhysX still broken despite nVidia publicly stating how Beth can fix it, physics still tied to framerate, HD texture pack is still trash.

Modders have done more useful fixes to FO4 in the last week than Bethesda managed to do with years of work. Many of which are temporarily broken by the update.

This is absolutely unacceptable - better to have not wasted everyone's time than release a quarter-assed update with literally no working fixes and some free modder-made content.

I'm not a typical Bethesda hater - they've done some great games and do have some actual talented content artists. However they really need to take advantage of the resources that come from being part of Microsoft and owning technical powerhouses like id - there is no reason the game could not have been put into a significantly more modern state for this so-called "Next gen" update.

I'm sure nobody will read this. BUT. I feel so naive. To put my faith in a AAA developer that notoriously disrespects their community with each update. The amount of disappointment myself and others are feeling in regards to the massive success that is the Fallout Amazon series only to be met with this dumpster fire of a "NeXt GeN uPdAtE" is worth a gripe or 10.

BA2 format has been updated to the Starfield format.
Archive format changed (v7 from v1)
Scripts got changed
Bethesda Archive Extractor is broken
Archive2 is broken
ENB is broken (being investigated)

(Note: BA2s are like ZIP files. They're the archive format that Bethesda uses to package their game volumes. This update changes the BA2 format from the legacy 2015 version to the version Bethesda is using in Starfield. That means that any third party BA2 tools have to be upgraded to use the new version.)

Ultra-wide has stretched hud. It’s stuck in 16:10 but stretched unnaturally to fit the screen. They removed the launcher to make it Steam Deck compatible, so you can’t change settings anymore. The new Enclave content was just stuff they already had, unreleased minor creation club content with untested level list distribution, note and terminal storytelling, and fights with reskinned gunners and raiders where at the end you get an overpowered weapon. The makeshift weapons pack has missing meshes on Xbox and the Halloween pack’s quest can’t progress properly.

Outside of fixing gamebreaking save-ruining bugs for console, nothing here is worth the five year wait.
If you don’t play on console, this adds nothing that wasn’t already fixed with UFO4P or other widescreen mods that easily did what Bethesda is trying to do here, but it was playtested.

Personal opinion: Todd Howard couldn't swallow his pride with the UUUGE flop that Star Field was and purposely "sabotaged" Fo4 scripts with this update to get more engagement from the mod community in hopes that it will shift into and blossom SF mod support.

All things considered. Talk about a lack of Customer Satisfaction. Imagine supplying your consistent customers a material that completely bricks their operations after years of successful business. Take my money, cut and run BGS

Currently trying to figure out if a roll back is even possible after a fresh install of Fo4.

If you couldn't tell, i was very excited to start a mod play through of Fo4. But i refuse to support mediocrity and will wait for community support to fix the blatant disregard that BGS continuously shows us. If that ever happens. Atm, the less than 20 major community modders are or currently considering pulling the plugs entirely on their projects bc of what has been noted above. If you want Fo4 to have any future mod support and the life of this game to continue; Be patient, be supportive, and buy your modders a coffee.

"♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ultrawide support update" yea right f_ck you betheseda, lazy piece of sh_ts. Cant even use mods to fix the hud stretching because they broke mods.

In your next-gen update, Bethesda, you should have fixed the high fps problem. If a modder can do it, why can't you?
