At best it's a garden variety PS3/360 era cover shooter with a neat centerpiece of a weapon. At worst it's a visual eyesore with boring and janky bullet sponge bosses. The gimmick weapon has some fun uses during enemy ambushes, but when a big guy shows up, you're better off pulling out your standard gun and spraying & praying.

Maybe you'll glean something lorewise out of this if you're a Warframe fan. Otherwise, just skip it.

Performance issues aside, it's an extremely weak title failing it's genre. For a covershooter from 2008 whose entire gimmick is having a glaive, you'd expect both the shooting and the glaive to be fun. The guns are terrible, emplacements/mounted guns can't hit anything even if it's standing right in front of you making the whole experience miserable. The glaive barely deals damage, is too slow and always seems to lack that bit of range needed to hit the enemies. Bosses portray very poorly if you're damaging them or not, making the second last boss a total nightmare since it requires a different strategy to kill it. Combine this all with a boatload of bugs and unpolished combat and you'll have a frustrating time going through the levels and it's combat encounters.

The story is terrible, really no need to drag it through the mud more than that.

Don't bother with Dark Sector, it deserves to be forgotten by time.

This game was awesome, and the boss fight in chapter 9 was my personal favorite and all. I liked how the boomerang is utilized in the game, though i think the final boss fight could've been better and the integration of the shop system was better carried out and there were a few more cutscenes to flesh certain things out, but I digress, I had fun time with this game and that is all that matters.

Though while this game was great and all, I am still not going to play Warframe. I like playing video game but not having a secondary job. Still, I can see this game encouraging non warframe players into buying warframe, because dark sector is a seriously fun time.
