Consiglierei questo gioco se si cerca qualcosa di rilassante con meccaniche sandbox. Molti parlano di no man's sky come un videogioco che ha avuto una redemption arc incredibile, ma non sono per niente d'accordo. All'inizio doveva essere un tipo di gioco, ma si sono resi conto di non essere in grado di svilupparlo, quindi hanno completamente cambiato strada, dirigendosi su tutt'altro tipo di prodotto. Questo è triste. 98 ore le ho accumulate nel corso di molteplici riprese, ogni volta che veniva fuori un grosso aggiornamento... Non sono mai stato soddisfatto nel trovare un videogioco davvero esplorativo. In conclusione, vuoi costruire le tue basi e condividerle con la community? E' il gioco che fa per te. Vuoi esplorare? No. Dopo aver visto qualche pianeta, li avrai visti tutti.

I can't understand this game.

Obviously, No Mans' Sky is a sandbox game that doesn't have a specific goal. However, everything in this game seems underdeveloped and useless.

First, there is no long-term goal or late-game mechanic to achieve. You can get your first freighter for FREE after less than ten hours of play. You can get high rank ships in no time. Base building is easily accessible in the first few hours of the game.

By gifting these features to the player effortlessly, there is no new content to strive towards. Soon the player will find himself with all the content of the game unlocked, lost in an infinite universe that is very little detailed and developed.

Let's see the main mechanics:

1. Survival: This aspect is essentially non-existent. In fifty hours of play I never died or took a risk. Combat is very easy even with low level ships both in space and on foot. The fact of being able to recharge vital systems with extremely basic resources means that this aspect is only annoying and adds nothing to the gameplay.

2. Base building: Base building is meaningless. There is no logical reason to settle on a single planet when you have an infinite universe of planets at your disposal. Furthermore, the earning opportunities that this mechanic offers are only apparent: you can grow plants, but you will have to MANUALLY harvest and sell them; you can extract resources but you will have to MANUALLY sell them. There are no passive income mechanisms in this game.

3. Ship upgrading: There are no particular reasons to upgrade your ship. Once you have obtained basic upgrades you will be able to carry out more challenging fights without problems and in any case you will use teleportation to the point of making your ship a simple taxi to move more quickly on the planet or from the planet to the space station. For these operations, however, you can easily use your initial ship and you will not notice any difference compared to a ship complete with all upgrades.

4. Economy: The units are extremely easy to farm but still and therefore do not give any sense of satisfaction when obtained. The economic aspect of the game is seriously neglected. As mentioned, it is not possible to earn units passively. Don't expect the kind of satisfaction you can obtain from a mangement game.

4. Exploration: I think exploration is the worst aspect of the game. In a game where economics and base building leave something to be desired, it would seem sensible to expect a major exploratory aspect. But no. There are infinite planets but there are about ten biomes. After a while they will always be the same. There is no immersion whatsoever: there is only one atmospheric effect consisting of "storms". These storms are simple wind effects displayed on screen that will be orange if you are on a radioactive planet, red if you are on a fiery planet, green if you are on a toxic planet and so on. Too bad, since infinite planets would have offered potentially infinite atmospheric effects that would have added immersion: showers of glass, tornadoes, tsunamis and so on. The buildings you can find are always the same and do not offer any variety. An outpost on a planet will have the exact same appearance as another outpost in another galaxy even: same number of modules, same external appearance, same interiors, same contents. There are only three alien races and they do not change depending on the galaxy. The space stations (always and only one for each system, just to never add a minimum of variety) are identical and do not change as the alien race changes. The fauna and flora present on the planets is always the same. The exact same animal, if scanned on different planets, will have different names but will always be the exact same. The same happens with flora.
Different resources are just terrain with different colours. They are all mined with the same tool, at the same speed.
P.s.: Why on earth are there no gas planets? I understand that you can't land on them but they make up a huge portion of the planets that exist in the universe and, in any case, they could have been exploited in some way for certain resources.

5. The story: Let me start by saying that I wasn't able to finish it. It simply consists of going from point A to point B and reading dialogues that are often completely useless and incomprehensible just to give that mystery effect (see: https://steamproxy.net/id/sniper_bob/recommended/275850/). I think these are the most boring missions I've ever done in any game.

Special mention for the UI. You will spend half the game time in your inventory trying to find the resources you are looking for. The game doesn't place resources in alphabetical order making it a pain to find what you're looking for.

The game also goes out of its way to make the most basic steps that you'll have to repeat dozens of times needlessly excruciating.
Do you have to go to a space station to buy something? You will have to walk the kilometers from where you land.

Do you want to open a chest? You will first have to remove the objects (to repair it) and then wait infinite seconds to get the reward

I can't find any point in this game, any reason why anyone should keep playing.

I am a 55 year old biker and trucker father, and probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 15 now. My son got this game for from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 12 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he let me borrow his controller. Me and my son then played in turns and I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game has helped build my relationship with my son back to how it was before he lost his mother.

So... where do I start here. This game is beautiful.

Its yours to explore and log the wonders of the galaxies, whether you want to build bases, become a scavenger, a pirate or an explorer... You have so many options. Every system is so unique and filled with beautiful landscapes or is just out right weird and terrifying. You can even crash economies if you are patient enough.

I will be 100% honest. This game, can be very lonely and boring. You will spend a lot of time travelling and the only times you will see other players is if your own friends join you, you go to the Anomaly or you run expeditions. You can find players in the wild among the stars, although you have a better chance at winning the lottery (I am seriously not kidding, you will almost never meet a player in the wild.)

With that being said, you have free range to essentially do what ever you please. This game is very relaxing, and I highly recommend it if you want something to relax with after work or if you're bored.

After a Year One blunder, this game took 6 more years to fix everything we considered to be an issue. Seeing what's going on with Helldivers 2 makes me think that maybe Sony had more to do with the problems at Hello Games than anybody/anything else.

Every time I log into Steam, this game is being updated with some multi-gig content pack, all free. We should be so lucky in 2024 to have a company this dedicated. 10/10
