Dear players,

First we want to address our warmest thank you to all of you for the incredible reception you gave Dawnmaker! We've received a ton of great feedback about what you liked and what was frustrating to you, and this is really heartwarming. We've spent 2.5 years of our lives working on this title, finally seeing people from far away or close by playing the game and enjoying it is the best feeling. ❤️

On to today's update: we're very happy to announce that Dawnmaker is now available on MacOS! We hope Apple enthusiasts will enjoy playing on their favorite computer. Let us know if you have any problems with the game!

As I mentioned, we also received a lof of feedback about what was frustrating in Dawnmaker. Today we're releasing a first update that addresses many of these frustrations. Check the full changelog for a comprehensive list of what we changed.

Changelog for version 2024.07.29

Gameplay

Added a link to another region from the first region. Losing the 2nd region won't mean the end of the run anymore.
Added wonders as a reward for 3 regions.

Quality of life

Added a new FX around the aerostation when it can be activated to win.
Added an option to switch from fullscreen to windowed.
Made the Airship tab be open by default after securing a region.
Added a delay after the end turn button becomes usable again, to avoid accidental double-clicking.
[bug] Made sure that buildings are sorted by level in the buildings roster view.
[bug] Fixed a missing translation when exploring a ruin.

Content

The Aerostation does not require action points to be activated to win anymore.

How does drawing buildings work?

I'm a little frustrated with the building mechanics (lack of understanding I hope). A few times I've added some great buildings to my collection mid-game, wonders or powerful "spend X to gain Y", only for them to never appear and to instead cycle through the same tier 1-2 trash "build adjacent to get 2 food" kind of thing. I've got barely any space left to build, but no matter how much I smash that reroll button it's the same awful buildings. Are they randomly pulled every time you click reroll? is it a ...

Changelog 2024-07-29 - Japanese available and a playtest on Steam

Dear players,

We are very excited to announce that Dawnmaker will be available in Japanese on its release day, July 31st! It will come alongside the English and French translations. Japanese is already available in the demo: play it now. ;)

We've also just shipped one last update before the release, with a big gameplay change, shiny new frames for the cards, bug fixes and some minor balancing on the content. And we're using this opportunity to start a playtest of the full game, open to anyone and everyone starting… now! The playtest will be open for about 24 hours, so if you want to give it a go before the release, and help us make sure there are no bugs in the game, now is your time.

To playtest the game, go to the store page of Dawnmaker, and click "Request access" in the playtest box. That's it, you'll then get to play the game as much as you like for the next 24 hours. Let us know what you think about the game here, in our Discord server[discord.gg] or by pressing F8 anywhere in the game!

Now, on to the full changelog, and we'll see you again in 2 days for the full release of Dawnmaker. :)

Gameplay

Locked some buildings. They cannot appear in the building draft until you have found them in a ruin or bought them in the airship.

Quality of life

Added new frames for all the cards! So shiny!
Added an icon next to the "gain" keyword on all buildings that have it.
Made it harder to lose in the tutorial.
Showed the Luminoil output preview on the Abundant reaping card.
[bug] Building tooltips cannot appear outside of the screen anymore.
[bug] Disabled cards zooming when hover while playing a building.
[bug] Fixed the map becoming misplaced when zooming out too much.

Suggestion : reroll proposed buildings

Hi, would you be open to add an option to reroll (once) the 3 buildings we're given as choice (maybe even with a cost) ? Often i'm building to a specific strategy / synergy and hoping to have specifics one proposed and i get stuff i really don't care about. Or i'm in need of _any_ building that would help me get a specific ressource, but receive other options. I know you can skip adding a building, but when i'm in a dire situation, waiting for the next time to choose might be too long to save me. I don't ...

Is there any value in removing cards from your deck?

Because Smog increases every time you cycle your deck, more cards in your deck seems to almost always be good because it increases the number of actions you can take before smog increases. Am I missing something? What is the scenario that you would want to remove cards from your deck?...

Great game: three requests

So far, I'm loving the game. Three items would really help the experience, though. First, this game SCREAMS for an "undo" button. I have lost two games now because of misclicks where a simple undo would have saved me. I understand that once new information is revealed, you shouldn't be able to undo, but dropping a building one hex away from where it needs to be is SUPER frustrating. Second, for those of use using a scratchpad, could you offer a setting for click then click support, rather than click and dr...
