If I could, I would rate this "mid-thumb" (no pun intended).

At first glance, it's a well-executed dungeon crawler with unique aesthetic, an interesting equipment / ring system and an overall engaging and addictive gameplay loop. However, to me it seems like this game could still be in Early Access given how many aspects don't feel fully fleshed out and instead somewhat bare bones (still no pun intended).

So I want to talk about the main issues I find with this game, as much as I adore its ideas:

Every time you start the game, you start a new run. There is literally no way to save the progress of a run - you either commit to it and finish the game, or you give up. Which means good luck if you're an adult with work to do, or even worse, if you have someone to take care of (like kids or relatives). This is needlessly frustrating and serves absolutely no purpose, given how the vast majority of roguelikes allow you to save a run and resume it later, and a run can take up to two hours if you're careful (which you should be).

You find weapons, potions and rings - the latter having different effects depending on which finger you put them on.
And here, for some reason, when you find or buy one of these rings, it tells you how many effects are known - it doesn't, however, tell you which effects and lies about the number as well - "2/2 effects known" just means that you've seen all effects this ring can have, but unless you've already tried this ring on literally every finger (which is a horrible idea as that will ruin a lot of runs), you won't know which finger has which effect. Only once you've bought the ring you can see the effect on each finger you've tried in past runs. Which, in most cases, will be one or two fingers at most.

This game has jumping. But it serves almost no purpose besides jumping over spikes or other traps. And yet, this game features upgrades for double jump, a blood spell that lets you jump really high, and explosive jumps - while there are literally no elevated platforms you can safely land on and the ceiling not even allowing for a complete double jump since every level (besides one secret level I've found) has a really low ceiling. What's the point of adding upgrades for jumping when it basically doesn't do anything? Why not add platforms, high ground, high ceilings in general or even moving platforms when you already have at least three ways to upgrade your jumping abilities? Because otherwise, your jumping abilities just don't mean anything.

Which leads me to another point, maybe the weakest of them all - the level design.
While the visual are great, the level design is genuinely awful. Every room has the exact same shape, the exact same size, and the layout of walls and traps is completely random and serves no purpose (unless you want to hide behind a wall to wait for your skill cooldown).
I get it that traps are set at random places, but what's the point of all these walls in already tiny rooms? There's no interaction with them, no change between levels, just different assets and visuals - which already help, but once you've grown accustomed to those, every room in every level looks the exact same to you.

Haven't used it much, but that's because it is really expensive and drains your health - and since there is only one skill that allows you to regenerate health (which you can unlock by chance and will replace your extremely powerful invincibility skill), you're usually really dependent on keeping high health as replenishing it means killing enemies, potentially ending your run right there if you're low on health.
Also, why do you have to scroll through different symbols to cast a spell? You could just as well have each symbol assigned to a number and cast the sigils by pressing those. Otherwise, it's also useless in combat, unless you can safely run around for 10 seconds, in which case you genuinely don't need to spend any valuable health on it.

Minor spoiler (no info about the contents of the actual ending):
In order to get any ending that isn't the most unsatisfying one, you need to find secret portals hidden behind secret doors.
But upon starting a run, there is no guarantee you will see any secret portals - even if you've opened all secret doors on every level, chances are, you will not find any portals leading you to the actual secret levels, of which there are plenty.
So instead of relying on the player's skill, the ending relies pretty much completely on RNG. And if you're unlucky, have fun finishing several runs only to find yourself waiting for the credits to end after the worst ending after every single "successful" run.

And a personal minor nitpick to show how important RNG is - if you don't get this thing before entering Blood River, you're essentially doomed. Being invulnerable to ALL spikes is an extremely great deal, especially in a level where all spikes are heavily obscured and some enemies are literally just puppets wearing spikes in front of them that don't respond to knock-back.

All in all, this game definitely has potential, but it's definitely far from perfect. The vibes are there, but the mechanics, overall, are just too frustrating for me to bother to continue playing.
