Basically Hansel and Gretel except Hansel has an MP40 and the bread crumbs are dead SS.

Kinda dull for modern standards tbh - this was outdated the second Doom came out. In 1993. Still, it's fun enough to blast through while listening to something else.

Also, you should probably play this using ECWolf[maniacsvault.net] - Wolf 3D is unaproachable enough without having to resort to DOSBox.

I'm very familliar with the Wolfenstein games the first one I played was on the PC called Return to Castle Wolfenstein back when I had a PC that didn't have a good graphics card. So to begin with this one there's 2 games on this one so I'm gonna do 2 seperate reviews on the games. I will start with Wolfenstein 3D not to confuse anyone. So you play as BJ Blaskowitz trying to stop the Nazis from taking over the world or something like that. You get 4 different weapons in the game. the kinfe, pistol, smg, and the heavy machine gun. You fight different enemies in the game. soldiers, smg men, dogs, zombies with guns, hitler priest, fast white uniformed soldiers, and more. There are secrets in the game that can be annoying at times because some keys on the further levels like on Episode 4 get way to carried away with it. There was one where If you press a certain secret you have to restart the level because it blocks the way to get it. You do get 2 keys one silver and one gold that open certain doors. The music is pretty good so nothing much to say to that. You do get treasure that increase your score but it's pretty useless. The controls take a bit of getting used to and when you move the mouse the character moves with it which is annoying but I rarely use it. There are different levels where your in a cave, base, etc. There are times where I had to stop because I had other things to do like read. There are 9 floors per episode so that's like 45 floors for Wolfenstein 3D. You do have health that you can pick up by eating dog food, meals, and picking up health. When your health goes down your character gets more bloody as the game goes on. You do have lives but for me I just safe at a certain spot and safe when it's safe. If your going to play this game don't press the windows button on the bottom left because it will crash your game. When I played this game I did have a bit of lag in this game which is strange because I have a pretty good gaming laptop. You do fight bosses in the game that are pretty easy depending on the diffulculty your playing on. Also some levels do not have health pick ups which is pretty annoying at times. There's a bosses like a leutenant, scientist, Robohitler, and so on. When you kill them you do get a death cam which is pretty cool to see when you kill the bosses. Now done with Wolfenstein 3D now for the sequel spears of destiny.

So for spears of destiny it's the same gameplay but with a different story and layout compared to it's predecessor. You play as the same game character trying to find the spear of destiny from the Nazis. In this one you fight in different areas similar to the last game picking up keys and going to the next level. Every few floors you fight bosses that can take a lot of hits but I managed to beat them easily. Theres nothing new except different layouts and new bosses. There's one where you go to hell to fight the final boss of the game. At least in this one the game doesn't have keys hidden in very much areas that are cryptic. Nothing much to say except it's Wolfenstein 3D expansion of some kind. If your going to get this game wait until there's a sale for it. For me I got it under 1.50 euro which is a good price for a game like this. I give this game a 9 out of 10. I hope this review makes you think about getting the game.
