This is a terrific puzzle game in the Return of the Obra Dinn mold. Like in Obra Dinn, you're presented with baffling scenes and need to determine what happened with a small number of details found in the scene. These clues take the form of words which you slot into a paragraphs to complete the (truly insane) story. Like Obra Dinn, every time you solve a puzzle, you discover something new about the story. But it's a little more of a detective story, as all of these tableaus are traditional murder mysteries, albeit strung into a surprisingly dramatic storyline. It's also incredibly varied, with at least one new mechanic added in every single puzzle. There are relatively few chapters, but the puzzles grow increasingly elaborate and challenging; the last one probably took me as long as the first three combined. The story here is very elaborate and goes some crazy places; it's filled with colourful characters and has some great twists. But it's short and has massive gaps in time; I would have liked some more details filled in, or at least a slightly longer denouement. The ending is a bit anticlimactic. But regardless, I thought this was delightful.

I loved this game. I have consumed both the base game and all currently available dlc. It's a good take on a puzzle game that gives you all the info you need and you just need to figure out the context between the clues. The only thing I wished for was the puzzles would get even more in depth later on. I kind of just wanted chapters to feel less stand alone I think, but I know that is just enjoying what I got too much. Anyways, if you like sleuthing, get this game
