I'm loving Slime Heroes - the slimes and characters are SO adorable and the world is fun to explore with cheerful colors and environments. The game is charming, challenging and just enjoyable to be in. I've been mixing the different skills to see what combos I like using best and am excited to collect them all. I also really like that this game lets you adjust the difficulty for your personal enjoyment, so if you're more of a casual player (like me) you can still have a challenge battling the enemies and bosses but it doesn't feel frustrating and impossible. There are several elements that make it a souls-like/ souls-lite but it's a more approachable take on the genre that I prefer. Each area also has secret passageways or alcoves with hidden hats, but it's a fine balance between exploring all the nooks and falling off a ledge or running into a really strong enemy, so watch out! I generally like cute action games with a charming or cozy storyline and the ability to play co-op, and this game checks all the boxes. I did have some minor bugs pop up and occasional lagging when there were a lot of enemies surrounding me but nothing that the devs can't fix with a patch or updates. I'll update my review once I finish the game, but definitely recommend it!

This game is a lot of fun to play and quick to pick up. My favorite part of the game is the co-op--it's a lot of fun being able to play with others and go through the objectives and map together. I really like that it's a shared screen view and that you get points together. The pacing is fun and easy to keep up with, and I find it really easy to get sucked into the game! I think the animation is cute and definitely adds to my playing experience. The playing difficulty levels are a plus and allow me to keep up with others even if they are playing at a more difficult setting than me. I like the overall feel of the game and how cozy it is, but the combat and objectives keep me engaged. Excited to keep playing :)

The real stand-out feature for me is the skill alchemy. It's been a fun adventure game on it's own but periodically defeated enemies "drop" their skill, which can be used as a primary or a modifier. I'm far from collecting every one but they've done a great job making all the combination unique; it reminds me of Transistor in this aspect. There's an additional "element" you can add, like fire damage or life steal; it's been a lot of fun digging experimenting with different combos.

I'm impressed by the pacing as well, when a skill or weapon is found there's enough time to get the hang of it but not get bored with the next challenge just around the corner.
