I am on my first playthrough, captain/standard difficulty. I was having fun keeping my army small and experimenting with different unit concepts. I had little difficulty with most battles. Now I am at the last boss and don't have a large enough army to stand a chance. I cannot win, and cannot figure out how to cheat. Love the game, and have been doing my first playthrough on Warlord difficulty with permadeath. I've managed to not have any units die so far, and would like to keep that going. I like the game but I hate the story/lore. Not saying it’s bad at all. But I just want to open up a map, or campaign map and keep going just traveling and fighting etc. like a person conquest mode or something? No txt or scenes, just str8 seeded randomized map game play or something? I’m probably explaining this terribly but....

Ive been really enjoying this game so far. Its a perfect mixture of Tactics Ogre and Fire Emblem for me. But I just reached mission 9. And this mission is just poorly conceived in so many ways. I get it, we're now facing professional military groups, so they're stronger. That part I dont mind.
