Co-op functionality is currently in development and will be featured after the Early Access release.


Early Access allows us to open our docks to you, our dedicated players, to help shape the final stages of development. Your feedback is crucial in ensuring that Ships At Sea becomes the ultimate ship simulation experience. Don't worry if you start on a small boat, just like in real life, everyone begins their journey with a modest vessel. During our Early Access period until the final version, you will progress and unlock the next level of your boat class certification, you'll gain access to larger and more powerful ships. As a result, we are rescheduling the release of our Early Access version to May 23rd to allow our team the necessary time to upgrade, integrate, and optimize the new engine version.

We are thrilled to introduce a new feature that will enhance your seafaring adventures - the fully functional Shipyard. This addition is designed to improve your gameplay and deepen your engagement with every aspect of ship management.


Enhance your boat’s capabilities by upgrading various components at the shipyard. To upgrade or rig your boat, simply interact with the laptop located on the workbench in the shipyard.

• Searchlights:
  Brighten the night with powerful lights that can guide you through the darkest waters.
  
  
• Steering Wheel and Throttle Control:
  Customize your command center with our range of stylish steering wheels and throttle controls. While these upgrades are currently cosmetic, they add a personalized touch to your ship’s cockpit, enhancing your visual and immersive experience at sea.
  
  
• Propeller:
  Boost your speed and efficiency with advanced propeller options.

These upgrades are just few examples, more options will be introduced to a later point. They will not only improve the performance or appearance of your ships but also add a layer of strategy as you decide how best to equip your vessel for the challenges ahead.


After days and weeks at sea, every boat and ship starts to show the wear and tear of constant exposure to the elements. Use the power washer in the shipyard to remove the rust and dirt, keeping your ship looking as good as new.


At the shipyard, you have the option to not only upgrade your vessel but also customize your appearance. Currently, there are preset clothing options available for different career paths that you can choose from. As the game continues to develop, we plan on expanding these options to give you the freedom to mix and match clothing and accessories. This feature will provide a more extensive wardrobe in the future, allowing you to create a unique seafaring persona.


Looking ahead, one of the exciting features we're working on is the ability to repaint your boat. This feature will not be available for the Early Access release but is slated for inclusion in a future update. Players will be able to choose from a variety of colors by interacting with color bucket assets at the shipyard. This addition will allow you to customize your vessel’s appearance to your liking, adding another layer of personalization to your sea adventures.
