It's really embarrassing that you gotta rely on community patches to fix the game

Great game, bad port.

The blue screen washed the lies away. My whole life was just the store page. I was in a steam review. Funny as Hell, it was the most horrible thing I could think of.

Amazing game.

This is the definitive Max Payne game, taking you through artistic genius mind that is 2000s Sam Lake. Trust me, you will not regret buying this game nor will you regret spending hours listening to the gravely voice that is James McCaffrey talking the carefully assorted words given to him, that even you will want you dress up in a trenchcoat and act like a knob.

But, and this is a big but, that can only happen if you have a degree in Computer Science or at least have the patience to deal with the honestly half-hearted attempt that is the porting this game to PC. At least for me, the game wouldn't even run on my Ryzen 5000, until I had to hack one of the DLLs for it to even read JPEGs, and had to install sound patches from that guy on the Internet. You trust everything he says don't you?

I wanted to play this game for a long time, and having some experience with computers, I was comfortable letting that guy on the Internet play Roulette on my PC, but most aren't. The only good part about this is that I only paid £2.99 for this (on sale), but to some, that too much the cost of having to spend ~30 min tinkering with whatever DLLs are.

Overall, I would not recommend buying this game, solely for the fact that this is not a complete game, and while I understand that there are problems porting 20 year old games, at least sell them for a penny, not for a bus ride, or a Tesco Meal Deal. But if you are willing to ignore that (for you maybe as blinded by the game as I am), then you are indeed in for a good time, and you are guaranteed to enjoy this 2000s thriller.
