I've had this game on my wishlist for a long time now, and having fond memories of aerial combat games from my childhood, I was very excited when I found this on sale. I even waited to play it until some new hardware arrived so that I would have the best possible experience. Sadly, I didn't even make it past character creation.

At first, I thought you could play male only, which is a big detriment to my enjoyment of a game as it is so very rare that male protagonists don't trigger me. But then I realized that the gender selection was done after character selection for some reason. This made me worry about the layout in the rest of the game; are the other UIs going to be in weird configurations as well? So, after having selected what I thought was a female character, I proceeded on and was immediately disappointed when a voiceover begins introducing the character, "As the son of..." Already grumpy, I went back and tried a few more seemingly female character portraits, each of which received the exact same introductory voiceover. Was it not a gender selection? It isn't labeled as anything, it just changes the portrait from a bearded one to not. Was it literally just a beard toggle? Or can the dev not be bothered with actual inclusion?

Anyway, this likely won't be an issue for most players, and maybe the game is quite fun, but I'm not going to pay someone to misgender me for however many hours it takes to work through the content.

Amazing game with an amazing world that I can relax in and just fly around for hours.

This game is unique and strangely satisfying. This is like Dredge only up in the air and with far less guidance. With keen patience and a curiosity for what this tenacious Dev has envisioned I believe this "quirky"(as the Dev himself in fact coined) experience is laying the groundwork for something quite extraordinary...though I cannot place my talon on exactly what that is? Either way this gorgeously stylized, at times contemplative, mostly gently confusing, albeit enticing, meditative, at times combatant, visually and atmospherically rich experience unfolds slowly but surely into something that I couldn't get out of my head at work today and, well, as soon as I sat down and began to explore? Strangely but fervently satisfying. I wish I could be less nebulous regarding this title. What I do know is that I will fly that bird until I understand the entire thing. Kudos to the Dev all the way.
