-Main storyline
mediocre, only 2 things that make it better imo are Mine (although i feel like he doesnt get enough depth) and the character building which makes the story of the other yakuza games feel better. The rest is very generic and garbage.

-Substories
mostly boring and repetitive.

-Minigames :
Pool and darts, the controls are very sensitive the ai is very rng dependent and it feels like you're either playing against a toddler or you dont get to play at all.
Golf and karaoke are pretty enjoyable.
Gambling minigames are mediocre.
Your reward for completing a hostess relationship is that you get flashbanged.

-the combat
pretty enjoyable and sometimes even satisfying, except for certain bosses and the fat enemies (which u cant grab which is horrible because some enemies will block untill the heat death of the universe), although i must say the combat doesnt have alot to it, and starts to feel repetitive after a while.

If u dont own this game, i recommend watching the main storyline on youtube and playing the other games first and deciding after if u would find it worthwhile to buy and play this game.

If u already own this game ( because u bought the bundle) i recommend u play this game after yakuza kiwami 2
(but beware this game is of WAY, WAY, WAY lower quality then the other Yakuza games).

Yakuza 3 is an overall great yakuza game, imo even better than kiwami/kiwami 2. Unfortunately Y3 has had it's reputation shattered by low iq people who cry about the combat.

If you're unaware of what I'm talking about, in Y3 characters other than the street npc thugs will block your attacks, so you cannot just spam rush combos. Instead of just doing the rush combos over and over again which won't work, you need to use your head and figure out a different approach. This drives people insane because they can't just spam the same attack and beat the game without any effort, instead they're supposed to actually learn new moves and ways to beat opponents. A good tactic is to wait for an enemy attack, and either dodge and do a rush combo behind them (which they can't block), or do parry/tiger drop. Tiger drop is pretty tough to pull, but parry is pretty easy. Hold R1/LB and wait for an enemy attack and then press Circle/B, and you will dodge the attack and hit the opponent in the head, which will stun him.

All in all, Y3 features a great story, funny moments, great OST, reliable nostalgic engine . What sucked ass about Y3 however are the first few chapters where you don't do anything interesting, only talk to your children and stuff like that.

When you came from Yakuza Kiwami 2 to THIS, the experience is unplayable; can't skip dialogs, visuals are horrible, gameplay is annoying and slow, same for fighting system, I could fall asleep while fighting bosses. Wasting money and time.

If your playing them in order like everyone, you will understand...

To say this is the 3nd worst game in the series (♥♥♥♥ you, Lost Paradise) may have truth to it, but it is an absolute overstatement of the case to say this game is bad or even mediocre because there's still a lot to enjoy, so give it a try if you haven't
