As Xeridan said (and my description also says) is this is basically a helicopter. Just pitch your nose in the intended direction of travel (Or pitch away from it to slow down), and hit the spacebar.

You're free to retrofit the design anyway if it's not entirely to your specifications :p

I do plan to make a "heavy" gunship variant eventually, but it won't be straight up "more armour, more thrust", but rather will bring rockets and turrets to the table.
