It said that all of my colonists and animals had been abandoned, as if I had them in a caravan, which I certainly hadn't.
The civil outlanders got my base, and a scouting party from their faction started moving away from my former base, to one of theirs...
Ok, so you lost your settlement but still had a caravan? Did you have multiple bases? Or you just randomly got the message even though you still had active settlements and pawns?
I randomly got the message a few hours after a raid appeared from a different faction, they were still preparing.
I was situated on a road, is it possible the scouting party went through my base and took it accidentally?
Thanks for the info. Based on your description, it seems like the scout may have targeted the raid in your settlement but instead of showing up on your map, performed basic AI vs AI actions.

Thanks for the report, I was just about to upload another quick patch and saw this and believe I found the cause. Let me know if the error still persists after the update (0.9.2.1)
Sudden game over on first summer with message "Abandoned settlement" or something like that. I don't even think I had raid incoming but it transitioned me to world view with game over message and my settlement tile had become belonging to different faction
Worth to mention I was playing with mod SoS2 and started on a ship in orbit so maybe my tile where I arrived from ship wasn't counted as my settlement in your code or something?
I think I was able to find and fix that bug in 0.9.2.1 as well, please let me know if you encounter it again.
@Ludwichs
Just did another quick patch that might fix your issue.
Same ! All the units on my map seem to stop moving. There has been no event or movement for a while now. I'm on the 2nd year of the game. (Maybe it's something to do with the range of my home base ?)
Looking into it now.
