Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ

-What is "x" town's override?
~Information on town overrides included within UWE can be found in the UWE Town Overrides Steam Discussion.

-What are faction "x's" enemies?
~Information on UWE Created Factions, including their faction relations, can be found in the UWE Created Factions Steam Discussion.

-Town override "x" didn't take place as expected, what should I do?
~Ensure that you move all characters at least two biomes away from the biome in which the town override you are trying to take place is located and then save it and see, if you can, whether the town override has taken place. If not, import from the save when you had all your characters at least two biomes away from the biome of the town override they are trying to trigger and then move to the town you are trying to trigger an override for.

If still not working, it may be possible that a certain trigger has not been successfully triggered. These triggers can be found in the UWE Town Overrides Steam Discussion.

-Where do I find character "x"?
~Information on the whereabouts of all created characters within UWE can be found in the UWE Created Characters Steam Discussion.

-Which weapon in UWE is best?
~While subjective, a user can look for themselves at the UWE Created Weapons for a chance to make that determination for themselves based on the stats laid out before them.

-What mods are included within UWE?
~Information on mods included within UWE can be found in the UWE Contributors Steam Discussion.

-Where do I trade item "x" for the best profit?
~Information on the trade cultures included within UWE can be found in the UWE Trade Cultures Steam Discussion.

-Where do I find the pacifier for faction "x"?
~Information on the location of faction pacifiers, within UWE, can be found in the UWE Faction Pacifiers Steam Discussion.

-Who has Meitou weapons in UWE?
~Information on characters that utilize Meitou-level weaponry, within UWE, can be found in the UWE Characters with Cross Level Weapons Steam Discussion.

-Is UWE compatible with mod "x"?
~Any mod that overhauls town overrides, character ai, and dialogue would be considered to have a suspect compatibility with UWE. However, there are mods included in the UWE Compatibility Patches Collection that would only be considered to be compatible if used with a compatibility patch.

Most other mods are fully compatible with UWE, as long as they do not effect town overrides, character ai, or dialogue...

-Why is faction "x" the way they are?
~Information on created factions, within UWE, can be found in the UWE Created Factions Steam Discussion.

-What is considered to be "territory" of faction "x" in UWE?
~Information on the territorial influences of factions, within UWE, can be found in the UWE Faction Influence Map link.

-Where is the queen of hive "x" located?
~The location of all the hiver queens is off the west coast of the landmass on islands.

-Did UWE heavily lower the spawns of item "x"?
~UWE does not heavily lower the spawns of any items, however, in adding in more items the chance to spawn in is already lowered when compared to vanilla. Most of the time it just comes down to basic bad luck when it comes to RNG.

-I want to help faction "x" by triggering town overrides for them. Where do I find information on their town override triggers?
~Information on town overrides included within UWE can be found in the UWE Town Overrides Steam Discussion.

-Can I play UWE with multiple other world overhaul mods at once(such as RW, Kaizo, and Living World, along with their corresponding compat mods)?
~Plainly, no it is not recommended to play as such. While stable enough, the town overrides will not be optimized and UWE will not play as intended. The best thing to do is to choose one other major overhaul mod and then utilize the corresponding UWE compat mod.

-I can't tell which faction a character has bounties with, due to them having diplomat status, how can I tell otherwise?
~Taking a look at the UWE Created Factions Steam Discussion should help to gleam an idea of which factions are enemies with one another. Basically, a faction will not have a bounty on a character unless their factions are enemies.

-What mods are recommended for a UWE playthrough?
~A particle fix mod, of some kind, is a necessity as the vanilla particle system performance leaves a lot to be desired.

A player faction color mod should be chosen from the TreadLightly's Player Faction's Colors (UWE) Steam Discussion, in order to make the most of the armor included within UWE.

-What are your recommended settings to run Kenshi on?
~Running in "Borderless" with "V-Sync" on, with the Kenshi Launcher.

Recommend to turn off shadows if performance is an issue even after installing a particle fix mod.

-Why does item "x" seem to sell for an odd price?(either too high or too low)
~Prices may vary due to the included UWE Trade Cultures that can greatly alter the pricing of an item based upon local biome supply and demand.

-Why do weapons and armor, stripped from corpses, sell for less within UWE?
~This is due to the logic used in many other RPG-type games, wherein NPCs will not pay a regular sell price for an article of armor or a weapon stripped right from the body of a killed/downed opponent. This was also done due to NPCs having much better gear, in general, than they had in vanilla.

-Why is it so hard to sneak and steal from shops, in UWE?
~Both being considered to be "broken" features in vanilla, due to the ease at which either could be employed, it was decided upon in UWE to make these actual features that take extensive effort and training in order to take part in. Effectively, theft now takes a concerted effort and plan, in order to pull off successfully and without notice.

-Why are more factions' armor considered to be "faction armor," therefore causing the wearer to be considered in disguise of said faction?(Along with lowering the sell value...)
~This was done to make the utilization of armor taken off the bodies of a faction characters less of a proposition will no drawbacks. Effectively, wearing armor stripped off the body of a character from a specific faction will make other factions see you as if you are a member of the looted armor's original faction. This comes with it's own positives and negatives, as well...

-I want to be at peace with a faction I've been at war with, how would I go about that?
~As long as you haven't killed their leader or one of their high officers, a player can find a pacifier in order to bribe away their war with a faction.

Information on the location of faction pacifiers, within UWE, can be found in the UWE Faction Pacifiers Steam Discussion.

-I have a faction color mod but none of the armor/clothing is being colored properly for me, why is that?
~Ensure that the armor you are utilizing can even be colored, in the first place. Basically, armor will say (colored) or (colored) [alt] if they can indeed be colored by a faction color mod.

-I can't find a character after loading in, what do I do?
~Ensure to only load in from the main menu(and never the in-game menu), otherwise, it is possible to have a character disappear permanently without recourse other than loading from before it happened. This has been found to happen to both NPCs and PCs and is an unfortunate vanilla problem...

-How do I make money in the early game in UWE?
~Hunting for animal skins is a good start, along with bounty hunting of weaker bandits.
