Update Notes
This will be a list of major and minor updates to the mod and will address specific issues.

Frackin' Universe Compatibility:
INCOMPATIBLE
There are a number of assets retained from the old Nightars mod in this version, and will cause conflicts with FU version given that Sayter incorporated the older version of the Nightars into FU, and will thus cause issues with the original version. This will not be fixed, as retaining the previous assets was intentional for later use.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ
Due to retooling of the extra biome, there's a high probability that this will break the universe files again. Additionally, I have removed Ztarbound as a core integration and kept only certain pieces of it, but reintegrated those pieces in a way that will not interfere with other instances where Ztarbound would be used.

INTEGRATIONS DISCLAIMER
There may be integrations from other mods that were incorporated here. These integrations were done based on permissions granted at the time. If you are the owner of the original mod(s) from which those integrations were derived and decide you do not want them integrated here, please reach out to me ASAP so that I can remove them.

Vanta Race Release Notes (v.2.0.0)

I am pleased to announce the next major update for the Vanta Race mod! The groundwork has officially been laid for a new adventure as a Vanta character, and as always, I'll be working to add more content. Below is a list of updated items separated into specific categories.

Quests
Intro Quest
A new, custom intro mission has been added to establish the disposition of the Vanta, and by extension, Nightar races, and their dissociation from the Protectorate. However, Vanta characters are currently still tied into the main story and will have special dialog in certain points of the story.

Nightfort
The Nightfort quest is in the process of heavy revision, and will be available in a subsequent update.
  • Additional quests are also in the works, though I am still in the process of determining the specific prerequisites for them.

Items
Starter Items
- A new array of starting items is made available through the custom intro mission:
  • Weathered Vanta Saber
  • Weathered Weathered Dagger
  • Weathered Pico Handgun (formerly: Weathered Sidearm)
  • Weathered Bangle
  • Weathered Grimoire

Weapons and Armor
Much like the previous version(s), there will still be tiers 1-6 armors and weapons. There is currently no branch options for Accelerator, Manipulator, or Separator variants. This may change in a future update, depending on whether or not I can find the time to come up with new designs.

Crafting
New items are available to craft, and while some are made available with this release, they may not be immediately usable. Some existing recipes have also been adjusted.

Additional Items
An Essential item has been added:
  • Personal Monitor: A portable tablet to help manage your techs, questlines, mech configuration, and codex entries

Dungeons
Warp Citadel
Warp Citadels are rare occurrences on Midnight planets. While they do have functionality in place, they are currently unusable due to lack of access to a particular item that can only be bought at a new outpost instance (to be properly implemented next update).

Proxima Moons
Proxima Moons (formerly "Blackened Moons") are retained as biomes. However, they no longer appear within any solar system naturally, they can only be accessed through warp citadels (see above)

Miscellaneous / Other
Codex Upgrade
The high-fidelity codex engine, created by Eti, has been integrated. Like the integrations of the Ztarbound bits, it's done so in a way that there is no conflict between mods.

Default Codex Entries
Vanta codices have been revamped once more, and can be accessed through the High Fidelity Codex.

Techs
Vanta characters have access to new tech lines through quests:
  • Stealth Tech - A two-tier tech line that causes the player to vanish from monsters and NPCs. The initial quest also has a training instance.
  • Vanta Sphere - A three-tier tech line that adds offensive capabilities and combines certain other spheres into a single sphere.
  • Wall Jump - A three-tier tech line that improves upon the Wall Jump tech; first upgrade slows sliding by 50%, final upgrade stops sliding altogether.

Vanta Ship Fix
There was an unknown bug with the previous iteration of the Vanta ship where a certain upgrade point would cause the shipworld to be broken. This release uses a variant of SubmarineKnight's Stinger Ship and resolves the issue.

/Weathered Sidearm Fix
Previously, the Weathered Sidearm was unobtainable. This has been made available through the intro quest and has been renamed to Weathered Pico Handgun.

Planned Development In Progress
Nightfort Completion
The Nightfort mission will be the introductory mission to additional quests beyond the scope of the main storyline. Completion of the main storyline will not be required in order to access the quest, but WILL require higher-tier weapons and gear.

Vanta/Nightar microdungeons and villages
Self-explanatory, really.

Rail Cities
I added an automated rail hook-like item that rides rails at a set speed and doesn't require you moving downward to gain speed. I haven't had a practical use for it, but I plan on changing that in a subsequent update with the introduction of rail cities and/or missions that require use of the rail rider.

Research
An integration from ZB, but this will be specific to Vanta characters and done in a way that actually makes sense.
