«Depending on feedback from the general community we intend to fully release Nekokami after 12 months of Early Access.»

«The full release of Nekokami is planned to include more star systems, biomes, and most importantly, Kami (cats). With player feedback collected, we also plan to implement polish over all aspects of gameplay.»

«The current version contains 16 star systems, a wide variety of biomes, and a good selection of Kami (cats). Additionally, two primary game modes are already in place.»

«Yes, the price of the game will likely be adjusted upward as more content are made available.»

«Players are encouraged to give us feedback in the Steam community forum and on our social media accounts. In fact, we have a button in-game that will take players to give feedback with a single click. Based on feedback from our players, we will expand on gameplay modes, features, and biomes that the community expresses the most interest in. Players are also encouraged to report accessibility and usability issues, or anything that is impeding their fun, so that we can improve in those areas.»

Architect beautiful, cozy planets in a far-future where Cats rule the universe. Befriend wondrous and whimsical spirits of nature. Restore and manage extinct Humans. With Cats in charge, what could POSSIBLY go wrong?


In Nekokami, you will:

  • Create beautiful worlds of natural habitats and human settlements with strategic, or spontaneous, placement of tiles in a unique hand-drawn-like art style.
  • Craft infinite planets with procedurally generated challenges. Pursue your own creative desires, or rise in rank in Nekokami Co., your employer, by creating worlds that beat expectations.
  • Follow an epic, whimsical yet heartwarming story of Human-Cat friendship, set millennia later in the future.
  • Befriend a wide selection of Kami, spirits of the nature and the universe, and see them bring miracles (or totally innocent CATastrophes) to your work.



Nekokami Co. is commissioned to manage planets all over the universe. That's a LOT of planets! Environment, biomes and rules differ from Star System to Star System.

I did mention the Kami*, right? Technically the spirits are the real fellows creating the worlds. As a Planetary Architect, you are basically borrowing their Creative Energy for your own use. You will need to seek their acceptance and approval. Through their friendship, you will potentially learn the secrets of nature and the arcane laws of universe. Maybe someday you will be able to wield godly powers?


*Kami is actually a Japanese word and concept that roughly translates to "spirits and gods".

Nekokami is inspired by all-time favorites like Dorfromantik and Townscaper. We wish to push the genre further with a humorous and wholesome story. Please try our unique gameplay in the Prologue!
