Based on feedback from our players, we will expand on gameplay modes, features, and biomes that the community expresses the most interest in. Players are also encouraged to report accessibility and usability issues, or anything that is impeding their fun, so that we can improve in those areas.“

Start a relaxing world-building adventure with Nekokami!

Architect beautiful, cozy planets in a far-future where Cats rule the universe. Befriend wondrous yet whimsical spirits of nature. Restore and manage extinct Humans. With Cats in charge, what could POSSIBLY go wrong?


In Nekokami, you will:

  • Create beautiful worlds of natural habitats and human settlements with strategic, or spontaneous, placement of tiles in a unique hand-drawn-like art style.
  • Craft infinite planets with procedurally generated challenges. Pursue your own creative desires, or rise in rank in Nekokami Co., your employer, by creating worlds that beat expectations.
  • Follow an epic, whimsical yet heartwarming story of Human-Cat friendship, set millennia later in the future.
  • Befriend a wide selection of Kami, spirits of the nature and the universe, and see them bring miracles (or small CATastrophes) to your work.



Nekokami Co. is commissioned to manage planets all over the universe. That's a LOT of planets! Environment, biomes and rules differ from Star System to Star System.

I did mention the Kami*, right? Technically the spirits are the real fellows creating the worlds. As a Planetary Architect, you are basically borrowing their Creative Energy for your own use. You will need to seek their acceptance and approval. Through their friendship, you will potentially learn the secrets of nature and the arcane laws of universe. Maybe someday you will be able to wield godly powers?


*Kami is actually a Japanese word and concept that roughly translates to "spirits and gods".

Nekokami is inspired by all-time favorites like Dorfromantik and Townscaper. We wish to push the genre further with a humorous and wholesome story. Please try our unique gameplay in the Prologue!
