Why Early Access?

“The main reason is our desire for full transparency with our clients.
We are confident that currently White Sands is fully playable and demonstrates all its mechanics and features, yet there is still a lot of room for improvements.
Players who subscribe to the game vision in its current form should be the best guides as to its further development.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We approximate Early Access period to be between 6-12 months maximum.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The main difference between pre- and post-Early Access game would be decided by the players.

Some areas of possible improvement and expansion are:
a) if players want more direct Unit control like in traditional RTS games
b) further expanded economy and base management system
c) more variety within playable and enemy units
d) new features currently not implemented but possible to develop based on game architecture”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully implemented features include:
a) Fully playable storyline missions with bandit and mutant boss objectives.
b) Events fully implemented with rewards and gameplay consequences.
c) Base expansions feature fully implemented for each player controlled station.
d) Defensive structures unlockable by the player implemented.
e) Mech units, VTOL aircraft and a wide selection of ground vehicles and infantry units implemented.
f) Medevac, decontamination and Trade Outpost missions implemented.

Partially implemented:
a) Partially implemented direct player control. (WIP)
b) Enemy and player unit Behavior Trees implemented but under further development.
c) Entire game map fully playable, with current locations to be further refined with new and animated structures.
d) Building and structures destruction system partially implemented. More in game objects will be successively added to the destruction system.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not plan to change the base price of the game during Early Access period and after EA is over, but we will change discounts rates based on Steam events.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“To participate in the game development, please provide your feedback in White Sands Steam discussion forums, Discord channels or our Twitter feed. Both Discord and Twitter are linked in the game Steam page.”
