Why Early Access?

““Bootstrap Island” is a dynamic game that responds and changes based on the strategies and tactics players employ. There are numerous ways to survive on this hostile tropical island. Even the developers can't imagine all the possible ways, but the players can! Feedback from players is incredibly valuable, as we want to make “Bootstrap Island” the most realistic survival experience possible, while also ensuring the game is fun, exciting, and challenging. We've already implemented feedback from playtesters and observed how involving players in the early stages has significantly improved the game. We plan to continue this approach throughout Early Access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to have the full release in the first half of 2025. We plan to keep our community updated about the whole development progress throughout the Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the release version of 'Bootstrap Island' we plan to feature more exotic areas to explore, animals to hunt and be hunted by, new story chapters, additional ways to interact with the environment, and new items to unlock. Additionally, we will continue to work on the balance and technical aspects of the game to ensure a smooth and immersive experience for everyone.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All the crucial systems are already functioning in 'Bootstrap Island' upon the Early Access launch — realistic physics, simulation systems for fire and water, and various ways to interact with the environment, such as climbing and swimming. The world is open, allowing players to approach their goals as they see fit. Each gameplay session is unique, with players discovering man-made objects from the shipwreck, exotic fruits, and creatures from nature. It's up to them to use these findings in creative ways to ensure their survival during the terrifying nights when predators become active. Longer survival unlocks new items to further improve your chances.
Each player has their own story based on the decisions made in the game. Players can compare their progress on the global leaderboard.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The planned price for the Bootstrap Island during Early Access is lower compared to the full release price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We believe that Bootstrap Island can become the best possible game only through close collaboration with the survivors. We have been blown away by the positive and creative feedback we have received so far! Some of this feedback has already been implemented during playtesting, and we plan to do so on a larger scale during the Early Access period. We invite survivors to join us on our Discord, Steam, Reddit, and Twitter platforms to share their feedback, ideas, and suggestions. Our small and passionate indie team highly values your time and appreciates meaningful conversations and the exchange of ideas.
