Why Early Access?

“We felt early access was the best route for us to work with the community to develop the game as they can play and let us know what they do and don't like as we work towards release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About 2-3 years.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full Version will feature better animations, more dynamic events(weather, droughts), more animals, and more islands. We would love to also come up with a narrative campaign eventually. We want to take the game from as is, and transform it into a great co op experience that can be played in sandbox.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Current state of Early Access is buggy. We have online co op working, and the following,
Crafting, Base building, Hunting Animals, cooking, days progression, and navigating rafts.

There is no real end game. Not as many animations as we'd like as well.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the game will be cheaper while its still in early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will vote for systems that the community wants to see and have public roadmap.”

About This Game



Project Castaway is survival crafting title set in the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean. Hunt, gather, fell trees and embark on expeditions to traverse the ocean - discovering desert islands laden with unique resources.

SURVIVE THE HARSH ELEMENTS




Embark on the life of a true castaway - stranded on a deserted island, with just yourself for company. Scavenge or hunt for food, traverse from island to island and be carefully construct rafts & shelters for when the night comes - it can get awfully cold on these islands...

EXPLORE A BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPE




Being stranded has some upsides, at least. Explore beautiful Pacific landscapes. Swim through shimmering blue water to stand upon golden sands as waves crash against your feet. When the weather turns, take cover under palm trees as the rain pelts the ocean - and listen to the thunder crash overhead.

CONSTRUCT YOUR BASE




Use the natural materials surrounding you to construct a base - the key to your survival. Hunt animals, fell trees and scavenge ruined ships as you build your way to safety.

BATTLE FOR SANITY




You best keep your wits about you - it can get lonely on these islands, and castaways have been known to lose their minds... Keep on top of your sanity and ensure that you're sleeping well - lest unnatural apparitions appear before you, seeking to take your life.
