Hvorfor tidlig tilgang?

«While we strive to start with a game that already feels great, there is a lot of things that we want to develop further alongside the community.
These are the points that we want to experiment with.
Your feedback will help determine the shape of things to come.
  • New Starters: The game will launch into Early Access with a strong roster of Engineers, Economies and Specialists, but we think there is still a lot of fun avenues to explore with new additions.
  • New mission types: We will experiment with new mission types and objectives, to see if they fit and enhance the experience. We have a pretty modular structure for this in place and really would love to explore more around it.
  • Enemy AI and behavior: While the AI is already fun to play against, we know we can improve and experiment with that facet of the game a lot to make it more varied and engaging.
  • Balancing: Rogue Command is a complex game and getting the balance to feel right will be one of the main thrusts of our Early Access development.
  • Meta-progression: We have more cool ideas for enhancing the long term experience of the game that we want to experiment with.
  • Ascensions : We are already launching with 10 Ascension levels, but we will add even more layers of difficulty and interesting twists, to keep it engaging for those who have mastered the initial offering.
  • UI & UX polishing: We want to make Rogue Command feel smooth and satisfying to play and will keep addressing issues that players might encounter.
  • Bugfixes: While we hope you already won't encounter that many bugs, having the community helping us with identifying remaining issues is something we will take very seriously throughout Early Access.

Oh, and there will not be a multiplayer mode for Rogue Command. We are aware, that people love playing RTS games competitively and cooperatively - this includes us after all. But this is not something we will add to Rogue Command, the whole architecture of the game is built with the goal of making an awesome single player experience.»

«We are for up to a year of Early Access to finish and polish Rogue Command.»

«The finished version will include a lot of stuff, that we are really excited about:

  • Cards, Upgrades and Starters: There is already a lot of content in the game, but we will approximately double the playable things in the game on our way to 1.0.
  • New Enemies and Mission types: The final version will have a bigger pool of enemy types and ways to encounter them in your journeys.
  • Ascensions and Meta-progression: Unlocking stuff is fun and we will have a fun way to progress through the game.
  • Secrets: Discovering hidden paths and possibilities is fun. It is murmured among the stars, that the final version of Rogue Command will set a host of clandestine clues free throughout the path of the Engineer.

«We hope that the initial version of Rogue Command is already an engaging package on its own. You can play full runs and there is already a lot of content in the game.
We also aim to have it in a good technical state and will try to be as quick as we can to address common bugs.»

We already have a really active Discord and want to use our community there as the main avenue of communication between us and the community.

THE RTS…

Rogue Command is first and foremost a classic RTS game. Control your units, build your base, harvest resources, explore the map, defend positions and come up with a plan of attack.
But instead of learning your build orders by heart, every time you start a run you are faced with the challenge of coming up with a new build.

…ROGUELIKE

After each battle, you choose from blueprint cards, adding new buildings to your arsenal.
Unit factories, defensive turrets, healing spires or super weapons - every choice shapes your build. Acquire orbital Drops that can shift the tides of battle. Add upgrades to your blueprints to broaden their abilities and enable powerful and surprising combos.

TAKE CONTROL

RTS games can get hectic but in Rogue Command you can slow down time to 10% with the push of a button. This keeps you in the action while allowing you to make the right calls, even when things get overwhelming.

FIND YOUR STYLE

Shape the game to how you want to play, by unlocking new Engineers, economic Buildings and powerful Specialists to start your next run with. The different combinations will change the foundation of your builds in wildly different ways, allowing you to find your favorite line-up to face the tougher adversaries.

WORLDS OF POSSIBILITIES

Lure the enemy into fog that slows them to a crawl or stun them by blowing up static bushes. Launch surprise attacks in the shroud of a sandstorm or wait for a rainstorm to tackle powerful enemies reliant on burning damage. The procedurally generated maps will keep you adapting your choices.
Discover chests with power-ups. Uncover ruins with hidden technologies that might be the key to victory… or full of unwanted surprises.

ASCEND BEYOND

Continue to discover new builds as you unlock new units, buildings and modifiers.
A first win is only the start — Keep pushing through unlocked difficulty iterations to make your way to the final challenge.
