I will be working to update this when I get the time, but due to the number and nature of the changes it won't be possible to update this mod for Repentance but keep it backwards compatible. For that reason, I'll likely publish the Repentance version as a separate mod, and keep this one unchanged for Afterbirth+.
By the way, does this also work with D4/Missingno/other items that randomly reassign your items?
I wouldn't personally regard TBoI as being suitable for children under 7 (it's rated 'Mature' or '16+' on other platforms), but that's obviously a judgement call for their guardian.
That's my guess, anyway.
If there's a very specific scenario in which crashing occurs, let me know, but otherwise I'm afraid there's not really anything I can do about it.
In the meantime I hope you're OK with just disabling the No Breakfast mod when you're playing as The Lost, as this mod already stops Breakfast from spawning when you're that character.
Let me know if the [old] issue still occurs, because I can't directly test it myself.
also its fine lmao
If I blocked Mr. Boom whenever you had Dr. Fetus, there are countless other combinations of items I ought to consider blocking too, and doing that would go against the very core idea of the game.
You can always check the Google Sheet linked in the mod description to check whether an item appearing is a bug or by design.
The decision to remove coin-consuming familiars for Keeper was definitely the most difficult and subjective one I made, but ultimately Bum Friend and Bumbo hurt Keeper notably more than they help him, and making them work requires either very high skill or incredible luck with synergies, so that's why I blacklisted them.
I do get your point though, and although I'm not convinced enough to change it, I absolutely encourage you to whitelist those items in your local version of the mod if you like. Let me know if you want any help with doing this!
I was confused there for a minute because Stem Cell, the trinket, is blacklisted.
As always, if you want to add or remove items to the lists of blacklisted items in your own copy of the mod file, you're welcome to do so. Let me know if you need any pointers.
Also you wouldn't be able to blacklist trinkets, cards or pills, just collectibles.
Yeah, I did notice a few health-container items cropping up. But even with those remaining, that's fine - as you say, they're useful if you get a bad pill proc or use a devil deal/black market - it was mostly the ones that were focused around heart drops and soul hearts that were giving me grief. Things like the relic and PJs and stuff which essentially just turned into "here's some flies you'll lose in the next room with enemies" items. Noticeable improvement all around! Thanks for the heads up on how to edit the .lua file, though. I'll keep it in mind!
However, the blacklisted items are defined in the main.lua file by simple lists of enumerations (called "CollectiblesKeeper" and "PassiveItemsKeeper"), which you are absolutely welcome to add to or remove from for your local version of the mod. Those health items are already blacklisted for The Lost, so hopefully it's not too tricky to copy them over. (Just remember to make a back up in case of updates.) If you want to do that and need further guidance, just let me know!
