The motion of the legs is really impressive here. I've been working on something like this myself, but havent gotten anything even close to his good. Would you be available to collaborate or at least describe how you timed the legs so nicely?

I have the mech "done" but i cant get it working. i dont use any scripts on my mech but overall it *should* work im about to get back in add some gyros with override set to 0 and see if this helps..

I build for looks first. You can use wheels suspensions on the feet pointed at the ground for shock absorbtion but I don't like the shape.

@blackarmor that certainly helps alot! i was averaging at 20 km which is a full on run by an average person mind you we are talking 35000 kg aproximate if you compound the overall mass on a single point such as a rotor you are working with a force of 73'394.4 newtons of force. while the blocks can hold up to it the rotor is not necicarily equipped to handle that load over time.
even the wheels cant quite handle the load but i do wonder is there is a method to implement force dampening using wheels (placed on the underside of the foot) to help counter the forces used. shock dampening would certainly improve the range of capability. in truth i had run everything through a tank course to test it. if i may also reccomend beefing up the feet will also help counter some of those forces.

Maybe just for support reasons, add the shield mod everyone uses to help with any unwanted clang and combat reasons? :3 10k shield might not be a lot but for a typical user it can save a LOT of your vehicle to chipping fire. <3

If you try to make a Cessna go supersonic, you'll just rip its wings off. Same goes here

You can't expect much out of walkers in SE. I'm not surprised it isn't doing well under those conditons you listed.

I provide a small thruster to at least get it up the usual 2x1 ramps for bases and reasonable hill inclines. It should really only be moving at 1 speed, which is comparable to the engineers jogging speed by design. It performs well at that speed and was never intended to go faster.

My advise is to stick to flat areas and stick to the design speed. If you want it to be able to go anywhere on the planet then make a nice tranport/dropship for it....or wait for me to :P

And while I hate most Saga material (post-Bungie Halo) there are two exceptions: Chief's armor and the Mantis mech! That sure would be cool, especially since they walk very similar to these Centurions.

I could do the Thunderjaw on my own, I just don't know how to program the T-rex styled legs, how to get it to walk properly, how to get the mouth cannons and back-mounted cannons to auto target, etc.

hey Armor. do you have any advice on working with difficult terrain? i tried your designs very intensively and i must say they are beautiful. respond really well but... they are not very good across difficult terrain and there is a certain point where the mech fails at about 5.8 m/s or 21 km/h overall it's quite capable inside of that range but does not do well with sharp turns, steep ramps or speed. ground traction is iffy (as with anything in SE the physics needs work) overall you know your own mech best
is there anything you can provide from your indepth knowedge of the equipment to help myself and the other pilots in my group avoid destroying such a beautiful and complecated piece of hardware?

Haha that sums up a lot of my builds. Not very practical, complicated, pretty....toys. No I don't think i'll do a thunderjaw. But since your a Halo fan i'll let ya know I'll try to make a mantis tonight.

You, sir, make the BEST toys. My own creations are not particularly good for survival, beyond being conveyored up and having basic survival facilities, but damn do I try to make them pretty. Is the jury still out on that Thunderjaw?
