It dosen't do any damage in the traditional sense... It just ends the physical existance of whatever it hits.
Ya know those NPC priate station that spawn on planets?
1 shot just removes the entire thing, from orbit, over 50km away.

I've yet to find any form of armor mod or shielding that can survive this.
It is stupidly overpowered and I love it.
Aside from that, great wok lol.

These things 1-shot targets at over 50 kilometers, no matter the cost it will never be too high.

I just used one to take out a target at over 50 kilometers...
These cannons can be used for orbital bombardment, and are now going on my Planetary Obediance Enforcement Stations to replace the Big Bertha cannons.
The AI range finder states that the maximum range is 2.4k, (however the guns wont auto-fire until around 600 meters) but manual fire can rip apart targets at over 15k!!!
Obviously getting anything to scale would probably _BREAK_ Space engineers in trying to render it, but I still think the gun should be larger to this. The barrel on a Nova Cannon is typically at least 300 meters long. They also don't have swiveling turret mounts. The Nova Cannons are mounted along the axis/spine of a ship so that the ship's engines can compensate for the insane recoil of the weapon. The actual Nova Cannon has a range of about 150,000 km, buuut again Space Engineers, that's just not possible. It also takes 30 minutes to reload a Nova Cannon after a single shot.
Still though, the model itself (other than the turning mount which bugs me) is beautiful, and the damage seems appropriate. Although I imagine it requires crippling amounts of power to fire this beast.
