Most of our buildings never get above 4 or 5,000. Tris (Triangles) and quads are what make up each part of a mesh to cover the model.
The computer has a real issue trying to render those on the screen. So if you have a large city, every building has a couple of thousand tris each!
So we attempt to keep the ti count very low. So I would keep a save with all your building in, and dont over right it and have a new save taking out as many large buildings as you can.
Just say keep Manhatten, as that all I model for, and remove New Jersey and the other burroughs.
Use the Bulldozer mod and remove EVERY tree you can in those areas as well. Each tree has a few hundred tris each!
Buy MORE Ram!! and at least a quad procseesor and minimum 950 Graphics card!
Use as few mods as you can, and cull as many building that you dont need, good luck!
My next building is just a baby!

AMazing what you find in NY, and Ive learned a heck of a lot from this all. All the best, and Merry Christmas!
Ingame I usually use Road Anarchy to place buildings with overlapping footprints.
However, I appreciate your assets very much! They make this already great game even more awesome! Already looking forward to my next NY project.
Fun fact: On my last trip to NY I went to the restroom in the Subway restaurant in 5 Broadway. The cabin was nearly as large as my living room. :D
Only when there are other buildings close by that is crossing into another buildings lot.
New York Buildings are so close together of course.
And with this one, because of how 2 Washington sits on the same Rectangular space, it had to be on the same lot, or uploading just Whitehall would have meant Washington could never have been created and be placed in the right place. Sounds weird, I know, its just also a style.
Going forward, I wont be doing it unless absolutley nessesary.
Prime example is the next one, where 1 Broadway, 5 Broadway, 11 Greenwich, and 25 Broadway, are all 'Stuck' together, which is a nightmare, as seperate ingame buildings you cant bring them together that close. BUT, I will be doing 1 Broadway on its own, and I'll think of a way around it!
I waited for ages for somebody to upload 17 State Street for example. I just love that building. I was so happy when you added it to the workshop in such a good quality. Unfortunately I couldn't use it in my current city because it came grouped with the neighbouring office buildings.
cheers bud
I already tried building New York about a year ago but so many iconic on the southern tip of Manhattan didn't exist as assets yet. My next project will definitely be NY again. Keep up the awesome work! :)
