P.S. Plus game crashed couple times and initial spawn options with space pod and drop pods are still avaliable so without some hints (message of the day?) it is hard to figure out how to start.
It seems that the lobby screen and spawn screen isn't showing up and you're spawning in the middle of nowhere just like you mentioned.
Working correctly, you should be in both the lobby to wait for other players and have the ability to chose which factions you're starting with.
As a temp fix, when you spawn in, suicide and join a team. You'll be granted access automatically (medbay feature). It worked for me in survival.
As for the 3km ride, I tried myself and found that there's no issues there and quickly found a ice small rock on the side. There's ice rocks in the middle, but also on the sides. If you don't like the ground vehicles, nothing prevents you on bringing the UAV down and add a seat on it ;)

As for the harvester, my guess is that it rolled behind the base. idk why it does that... it's like the parking brakes doesn't work 100%. Use the UAV (it's remote controllable and above the base) to survey the area.
Keep me posted on how it worked out for you
1- Grind the Harvester's beacon and place it on the base. Set to 50Km and check /conqbase to ensure it is valid.
2- Use the harvester as a vehicule to get you to Site A/B. Use your hand drill to harvest as much Ice as you can.
3- Get back to base and start building your ship. A good idea would be to use the E.J.E.C.T. blueprint (check workshop).. it's small, simple, has cargo and fast to build.
If you need to mine, use your UAV to survey the area. Make sure it's got a ore detector, if not, install it.

I suggest you fulfill the blocks requirements using your base and set your beacon at 50km broadcast. Check with /conqbase by aiming your base. I wouldn't rely entirely on this at that point to get all necessary
There's massive ice formations about 4Km from your location. At site A, B and in the middle in-between those sites. Any of the vehicles should get you there. You could use the yellow harvester as it is sturdy and got a O2 generator equipped.
Trader: NPC is at coord 0,0,0 range 2500m (instead of trade station current location). So basically useless until late game, but still useless.
Conquest mod: Grid must be static, ore rewards every 15min, have refinery, power, beacon, assembler. Site A and B are now meaningless.
I mean... ok I get that there are two sites to do something at but, what? I start out with nothing and have to run to somewhere and then do what? Can't make it to the trade station before I run out of oxygen... no hydrogen to make the jump up to it either.
