I also once tried to make absolute darkness without success and one time there was this very darkness where I didn't need it, so I don't know how I did and couldn't even use it - a shame -_-

But finally I got pretty great darkness in Core Capture if you are still interested in how to. Maybe it helps you find out something for a new map of yours.

So I did it how I could with small and long corridor...
very unusual, as most of your maps ars more complex or high in fun factor, or both.
as some maps your need to hold a cube covered in bounce gel,
I gave your map the thumbs up, based on the fact that for anyone unaware of this,
it would be educational.
I could add anything you want if it will not break the "absolute dark" in the room ^^
