I don't remember how the configuration is stored, and I don't have Garry's Mod installed to check now. But it might be either in the global config.cfg where convars are saved between game runs, or loaded from 'presets'. If it's loaded from 'presets', you could probably find them by searching the game folder for a file or folder named 'fair_damage'.

Regarding other comments that I neglected to respond to, about zombie speed multiplier and APC health -- I might look into it at some point. If the APC skill convar actually works, I will probably add a slider for it. Not sure if there are skill convars for zombie speed, and if not -- that's beyond the scope of this specific addon (I largely limit myself to modifying convars already in the game, because that's relatively easy as opposed to overriding something more intrusively). But even then, I rarely play Garry's Mod now, and so I might never actually get to look into making any of those changes to the addon.

Cytroen, I looked into it. SMG1 ammo drops seem to be inversely proportional to SMG1 damage ('sk_plr_dmg_smg1' convar specifically). The higher SMG1 damage, the lower the drops. It also varies a bit whether I pickup an SMG1 dropped by Combine or Metropolice. You can test it by changing SMG1 damage in this addon's configuration and observing changes in ammo drops.

The addon changes default NPC health, so they should have the health you specify when you spawn them. It does not adjust health of NPCs already present, it also does not adjust current nor default player health. Addon description refers to the fact that, with this addon in default configuration, most NPCs will have 100 health when spawned. Which is the same as default player health.

There is a bug in Half-Life 2 and Garry's Mod where Combine soldiers don't need to pump their shotgun if they fire while running. It practically becomes fully-automatic. You can adjust this addon's settings and lower NPC shotgun proficiency (which affects accuracy) as a workaround.

Whenever I pick up an SMG from a defeated enemy, I only receive 7 rounds instead of 25 rounds. Is this intentional? Is there a way to change the rounds that I get from each weapon? The SMG's ammo pickup rate seems to be the only weapon affected by this mod.

Yes, both has "perfect" proficiency, 4 rebels vs 4 elites, with SMGs, and with the same positioning. Also even with the same proficiency metrocops lose more troops than elites to rebels, maybe they have lower fire speed.

Both sides using same weapons, I assume? I haven't actually tested it. 'Weapon proficiency' should be the same for both, as well as damage. I know that only two combines in a squad can fire at the player at the same time, if they do the same when fighting rebels, and if rebels don't have the same restriction -- it would make rebels generally have more damage potential. Though combines can use grenades, so that could skew the results as well.

Rebels win most battles, even with fair accuracy edited for both sides with NPC tools.

That's a type of Metropolice used on some Half-Life 2 levels. They use 'more dramatic flinching animations' and have health of 26 by default, compared to 40 of regular Metropolice.

If individual weapon addons add such console variables -- yes. For example, I know that M9K adds a console variable that allows scaling damage across all weapons from the addon.

oh yeah like I said well.. Assuming you mean the proficiency settings at the top of the fair damage menu? I did end up putting everything box to "poor", poor accuracy for all weapons, and what fucks with me is it was aaaalmost fair, but it seemed like the citizens might've STILL been shooting with a slightly tighter group than is literally even possible with the smg if you crouch, semi-auto, and keep your reticle focused on the exact pixel like 99% of the time. It was ALMOST good already but just not quite

not sure. I've heard citizens are more accurate than combine though. I'd go test it right now but I'm in the middle of something. If I don't forget I'll come back later and test it and post my results here

It might be a good idea to post a topic on this addon's forum page, that describes the problem in detail. Something like 'NPC accuracy is better than player's by default'.

Huh. I might investigate.
First, does accuracy vary across NPCs? Have you noticed, that, for example, citizens shoot better than metropolice/combine with same weapons?
Second, did you try fine-tuning the proficiency settings? Does that help? Or are NPCs too accurate even with the minimal proficiency?

Note: Because of the way I coded it, if the map includes NPCs -- you might need to 'Clean Up Everything' for proficiency to apply to them. (Now that I think about it, I might try to fix that.)

Lastly, I appreciate the feedback. I would want this addon to be the best it can be, and feedback helps with that.

I applaude your efforts for this addon and maybe it was just some sorta unavoidable glitch in the Source engine, but that was not "fair damage" in the slightest

First thing: Even after turning the accuracy down to the absolute minimum, I watched an npc fire maybe perfectly even, but possibly slightly better, than me firing the smg at them semi-auto, while crouched, like 75 feet away while I had my reticle perfectly on their body 99% of the time. If they were truly firing dead equal, at absolute best this means the addon's "poor accuracy" is making the npcs all as good as an above-average gamer who's played fps's since he was like 4. If he was slightly better? Than "poor accuracy" is making them shoot slightly better than physically possible as I was shooting with the tightest possible grouping the smg can be fired with and he was possibly somehow shooting with a smaller group

I'm not trying to libel this addon, I love it, it's a great idea and if executed perfectly I'd never play without it, and maybe it's some other addon I have that's causing my problem! Sadly I don't think so

'Other' proficiency should apply to that, although I haven't tested. And you can't adjust damage for modded weapons.
