@Harley I would just key bind a key to third person instead of trying what you're trying to do.

All you have to do is type ''Bind >you're key here< thirdpersonshoulder'' in the console, and you can go in and out of third person whenever you wish.

The red dot appears, but that's about it. The other projects don't work, I follow the steps. What went wrong?

@Sterlok To reset the keys you will have to go through options>keyboard/mouse>edit keys/buttons>use defaults.

or if you have binded a key to a command in the console, go through the same options except click any option and bind the key that's binded to the console command and change back the option to its original key.

@Chainsaw Wielding Hero glad i could help, and here's 3 tips that might be helpful as well that not many people know.

1. Don't use custom models of survivors or special infected when playing a custom map or the game will crash ( if the map still crashes you may have to disable a custom map that uses its own custom models in order for a different map to work. )

2. Always download a custom map while l4d2 isn't running, this will prevent a map from losing its textures and prevent it from randomly crashing.

3. You actually have you're own sever browser, you may see some addons in the steam workshop that have there own custom server browser even though any person who has l4d2 already has one and getting a custom one from the workshop is not necessary, just open the dev console and simply type ''openserverbrowser'' ( without the '' ) and boom.


Hopefully these tips will help you out as well man, cheers

If you followed all instructions, pressing your Mouse3 (The scrollwheel) will activate it. These lines also changes the bind key as well. Change "mouse3" to something else you desire.
