Don't use too saturated colors or colors that are under 8% lightness in 3D Coat for example, as that will look bad ingame. Try to add more detail. There are too many talented people making the coverts and milspecs so the best area to aim at is either restricted or classified. This requires details.

Allow people to see the skin ingame. There are tutorialss on how to get it ingame. Put up more pictues of the gun in general. Add a gif or show the wears of the gun. Modify the wears to begin with too. Don't go for plain color designs as those have been done so many times people managed to perfect them. I add a lot of detail into everything that I do to make it different. Red White and Black colors for the m4a4 probably won't be picked due to the fact that the m4a1-s Cyrex has the same color scheme.
