That cord in the back of volt is so good. wish they made volt with eletrical cords on his back in the first place cus it goes with his background as a warframe that controls electricity
Faven  [author] 13 Jul, 2016 @ 12:52pm
@skynin yes they are custom. I dont know what the deal is with the arm pieces. frost seems to be suffering from the same thing
Skynin 13 Jul, 2016 @ 9:24am
Those are custom shoulder armor pieces, right? I have only default ones, and it pisses me off. Did developers even added it into the game? And if yes, where is it?

its such a massive long process somtimes. Ill do a stream when I start texturing the new one I'm working on.
wellen1981 28 May, 2016 @ 2:08am
Cool, next time you work on doing assets you should twitch steam it and maybe announce in here etc.
Faven  [author] 28 May, 2016 @ 2:02am
its fine tbh, the volt amp skin was one of the first ones in the game, there was bound to be somre errors.

The "problem" with the skin was that it was using a lot of wera/tear etc. BUt also using PBR material. it wsn't untill I started on the grineer stuff that I found a solution that would still give it that worn feel, without artifacting to bad.
wellen1981 28 May, 2016 @ 1:41am
ah - doesnt bode well for creators in the future considering how DE just left you hanging - even worse for your rep as it is paid content but oh well, I guess your workaround is still a resolution of sorts.

Nice work btw as I have said before.

On my 'to buy' list when I get back into warframe properly ;o)
Faven  [author] 28 May, 2016 @ 1:38am
yep, or well, I just redid all the texturing. was easier.
wellen1981 28 May, 2016 @ 1:34am
Does this mean DE have finally got around to resolving your asset then?
13ossloaf 27 May, 2016 @ 5:16pm
This skins been updated with 18.13 and it looks soooo much better!
wellen1981 31 Jan, 2016 @ 11:43am
The time on this you put in shows, impressed.

Wish some effort like this could be put into a chroma skin :LotusFlower:

@rahuhordika

Thanks, yes, there's artifacts that seems to be caused by compression I'v reached out to DE to see if theres anything that can be done about this, havent heard back from them yet though, but im gonna chase.
RahuHordika 21 Dec, 2015 @ 6:33pm
First off let me say that the skin is magnificent and I adore using it. With that said I am sure you are also very well aware that there are some issues with the ingame version, I merely wanted to provide some visual indication of some of these issues.

Faven  [author] 2 Dec, 2015 @ 10:45am
@boggle yeah im gonna try to track down someone from DE, there seems to be some heavy compression happening that makes things a lot worse. gonna see if this can be fixed
Gryffy 2 Dec, 2015 @ 9:52am
I love your design but unfortunately when it got in game it looks way worse, I'm not sure if DE did something to it or what but :/
DJ MATTTAM 27 Nov, 2015 @ 2:36am
Hey man, CONGRATZ! Can't wait to buy it!
Kthal 25 Nov, 2015 @ 11:37pm
Helmet was included, but not the shoulder pads. I've heard mention of how badly the default ones match your skin too.
Faven  [author] 25 Nov, 2015 @ 2:53pm
kthal, thanks for buying it! havent had a chance to check htings out yet in the store so. I bet I dont get a free one so I guess ill have to buy it aswell.

I wonder if the color saturation has to do with mine using PBR and the original not?.

The tennogen tool is whoefully inept at showing the "real" enviorment with all the bloom and whatnot. Ill see if I get the time to logon tomorow and have a view, in theory it should really only be about balancing the diffuse base color.

Did it come with the helmet aswell btw?
Kthal 25 Nov, 2015 @ 2:47pm
Loving the skin: http://i.imgur.com/zaMF009.jpg

One issue has become apparent though, the colours completely mismatch what other armour pieces show them as ingame. There was no real way of telling beforehand, but your skin has a much higher colour saturation than the regular Volt skin.
Decimal™ 25 Nov, 2015 @ 2:40pm
how do i even buy this??!??!
Twx 22 Nov, 2015 @ 2:48pm
reallynice skin)

U kno the overload volt v2 skin
Faven  [author] 22 Nov, 2015 @ 6:25am
v2?
El Nokro 22 Nov, 2015 @ 3:29am
Too bad v.2 didnt make it.
Najas 21 Nov, 2015 @ 2:49pm
As a frequent customer of your helmet designs on PS2, I'm glad your artistic technique and uber-futuristic style has only improved with this skin. I hope your submissions with DE are as well recieved as they were with SOE. Much like helmet selection at the beginning of PS2, Warframe's stock and current alternatives don't allow much choice, but the community is blessed to have your experience. Congratulations on being accepted and I'm looking forward to see what you can do with future projects in Warframe!
hugo.r.becerra 21 Nov, 2015 @ 6:06am
great imagery/work. I don't know if anyone noticed but, in the video you can tell. the pose for the blue/green volt isn't natural, you don't run/walk with the same arm and leg..u do counter movements to balance your body. in the still, it looks correct until u look closer. Just a little positive feedback. ;)
Faven  [author] 20 Nov, 2015 @ 2:40am
thanks, excited to see it in game at..some point, still unclear on when thats happening.
FatRefrigerator 18 Nov, 2015 @ 8:51pm
Congrats on getting accepted!

its nice dude
Faven  [author] 9 Nov, 2015 @ 3:27pm
@kawasaki, im glad you changed your mind. I'm especially glad that you changed your mind over the maps because I've been scratching my head trying to figure that out.

I agree with the prime thing. I hope that I get a chance to do a little ''prime addition' or something. on the grand scheme of things its a tiny bit of work and would make a massive difference. Especially since volt prime is such an uppgrade.

The grineer style was there in my head atleast, I started there but got more and more cuved and refined as I went on. I think the end result got a certain grineer factor in choice of material but not in shape language.

appreciate the feedback, thanks a lot.

So after a fair amount of thought, I've come back to this thread.
I feel as if I was unfairly stuck on something, and didn't give a proper critique.
I also feel as if I took the whole matter a bit too personally.

I like the skin, it's definitely a lot better than most of the work being uploaded.
I wouldn't use it myself, but that's only because I tend to only use prime variants.

I still feel the resemblance to iron mans iconic arc reactor is there, but I'm glad you took away 2 of the 3 similarities. It lessons the likeness dramatically.
I now realize that your maps are actually good as well.

I think this skin adds a nice refresh to what I consider one of the most desperately bland skins in the game at the moment. The emissives arent overpowering either.
I don't see the grineer style at all, but I like what you've done with his helmet the most.
Kthal 7 Nov, 2015 @ 9:26am
Amp is short for Ampere, a unit of measurement for electrical current.
Zoni 7 Nov, 2015 @ 8:31am
What does AMP mean?
Kthal 7 Nov, 2015 @ 1:46am
DE have said they will have decided on round one by Monday. Good luck!
MISPLACED 6 Nov, 2015 @ 5:18pm
This is sick! I dont even have Volt but I need to give this credit for being awesome.

People talking about similiarity with Iron Man are just morons. Shiny-thing-in-the-chest is not something exclusive to him, never was. And just that on its own doesn't make it "Iron Man skin".
Don't mind them, your work is amazing. They all can go and fuck each other in their ignorant arses.

Some are just so salty because they can't even dream to do something so decent.
Azrael 5 Nov, 2015 @ 1:08am
Iron-man! XD
Kthal 4 Nov, 2015 @ 11:53pm
I was thinking more about testing compatibility, and getting in a few extra renders. If you are given the Volt Prime files, I would love to see the result.
Faven  [author] 4 Nov, 2015 @ 11:46pm
@kthal I've added a note for DE saying that I would love to skin the volt prime bits aswell if thye like this enough to go ahead with it.

Now we wait and see.
Kthal 4 Nov, 2015 @ 11:42pm
If you want to try poking around with Volt Prime, the model files have been extracted by a guy with goes by the username Nikout. He had SFM and GMod files, but the workshop system stopped him updating before VoltP was added.

I don't know the formats or the newest locations of his stuff, but since the Prime attachments are added on top of the base model, I wonder if it is possible to manually import them.
Faven  [author] 4 Nov, 2015 @ 12:23pm
@coverop, you cant pose it no, I skinned/rigged it in blender and then just imported the obj

@DJ Mattam, thanks!, I personally don't worry about it at all, there are other people who seem to worry for me;)
Coverop 4 Nov, 2015 @ 8:06am
You're able to pose character in TennoGen!?
