guys does this affect performance?

Daylight Classic + Softer Shadows + Dynamic Resolution + Real Neutral LUT,Thank you, these four mods are still valid until December 2024.

I respect and thank every mod creator, but I have to admit that after 9 years, the simplest and most effective mods in terms of light and shadow effects are still those from 8 years ago.

this 4 mods combination still cannot be replaced, such as' Render It! ',' Lumina ', and' Relight '. Although these complex mods are more flexible and free, they require patience to adjust the values. Most players just want to achieve a simple and beautiful light and shadow effect.

What I most want to adjust is the part of the building that faces away from the light. The latest Mod [Natural Lighting] can replace [Daylight Classic], but still cannot fully replace [Softer Shadows]

Every time I load a city this mod seems to be disabled, even when the checkbox on the options screen suggests otherwise. I have to manually disable then re-enable it each time I open my city. Anyone else have this issue?

This does still work, if it does not show up in the mod menu it could be because for some reason Skyve will disable this mod, so make sure you check your skyve mods list and see if its enabled there and it should show up in game.

The mod still works just fine! Make sure its enabled in skyve! That is all!

Just like other people say, DayLight Classic + Relight have better and soft results than Render It. Sadly only Render It have some options. So I have all of them here. It's a mess, everytime I load a game, i need to adjust things. But the visual is absolutely amazing.

I launched the game after getting this mod and the game claims that it’s broken, obsolete or dead. After i removed the mod the problem went away, is it just for me and something’s wrong with CS on my computer or is it like that for everyone

Render It can't achieve the same look as Daylight Classic + Relight. Don't care what anyone say. It's just not the same (and by that I mean it's worse).

@giantwod it actually doesn't work the same way... did all the settings, cannot get the same look when using daylight + relight. Render it shadows are still way too dark

@aergl0 I am removing "play it" and "render it" and trying Lumina and Eye candy X.

You can use Theme mixer 2.5 with playit/renderit or with lumina/eyecandy.

@giantwod I am in the exact same situation. I unsubbed yesterday to daylight classic thinking that I could get the same result with render it like skyve was saying, but I hate the way it looks so much!

@StayHungryStayFoolish i know render it works, but i really hate the mexico movie filter.
And i dont know of a way to remove it without daylight classic. I do not want to play the game with that ugly disgusting sepia filter.
If there is no way to remove it with render it, i will continue using daylight classic.

@giantwod Render it! works just fine, we do not need Daylight Classic. Please check the hints in the Hotels & Retreats compatible modlist.

Recompiled the mod against the current game's binaries, just in case.

To those complaining about this mod's visuals etc.
This mod's whole intention is to re-create the original game visuals pre-After Dark update (v1.2) when all those fancy lightning effects & the day/night cycle were added. It intentionally replaces them with the vintage effects to re-create how the game looked and felt at launch and adjusts settings (as well as replaces stock LUTs) to exact values as they were back then. Obviously, it's a downgrade compared to visual improvements made both by CO developers & other authors since then.

If you need better visuals, this is not the right mod for you. If you, like me, feel nostalgic about those simpler times in 2015 or just want to get rid of the yellow daylight, this one is exactly what you need.

For people having problem with LUT resetting when going in overlays etc there is a simple fix. (only occurs if you have render it and theme mixer 2 both subscribed). Go in render it and there should be a option for colour correction override check it to none. Hope it helps (that's how i fixed it)

@Tal-Knight2 I think that with the latest updates to the game, light management, rendering, shadows, etc. have been natively improved.

I was having problems with the game in terms of appearance issues, I tried for hours, even formatting my PC, when doing mod tests by mod, combining the visual mods, I realized that the problems were caused by Daylight Classic and Religth since they did not They have been updated for a long time and the game no longer handles visual effects as before, removing these mods and their luts (Religth luts) all the problems I had were fixed and to date I have not had any.

@Chimichangas a lot of the comments on Theme Mixer 2 indicate that it's incompatible with Render It!. Have you not had problems with LUTs resetting when using overlays or underground view?

It makes me kinda sad that this mod hasn't been updated for years now... It used to work properly, but now it messes up the visuals of my game. Along with 81 Tiles, it makes it unbearable to look at. I just need it fixed

This mode has never worked properly. I've been getting drunk on it for years. A relief since I removed it. It has nothing to do with anything!!! There are alternatives in 2023.

In my case, this mod damaged the color correction and lighting causing the game to look ugly, removing it completely fixed that problem.

For the Cubemap mod to work properly I use : Fog Controller

From personal experience I can say, after having literally spent hours testing mods, that you only need:

Theme Mixer 2
Render It!
Fog Controller
With these you manage to have an incredible appearance on your maps.

Even Religth caused me several problems, which went away when I completely removed it.

Samuel Hyde well maybe you can use this in conjunction with them after all you are mixing in a whiter version of red, so instead of yellow you may get a tint of pink etc.

Can confirm what Greentrap said, using the built in financial visuals are now better than Daylight Classic, RIP.

Is a Cities: Skylines 1.16.0-f3 update coming for this mod?

Even if visual mods mostly do not need to be updated, this means that many new possibilities are missing. Meanwhile, the latest vanilla visual effects look better than this mod here. It's also annoying that the whole time the game says that this mod hasn't been updated for 3 years. It just leaves you with an uneasy feeling.

I tried vanilla's new color fixes earlier and came to the conclusion that this old mod is no longer needed. There are already many new possibilities in vanilla that this mod cannot offer. It's a pity that BP is no longer active, but what can you do...?
I have now decided to unsubscribe from the mod here. It's just too old and doesn't use the new possibilities of vanilla.
