Beautiful ship. I get no lag with my i9 and 32 gigs of RAM, we've come a long way since 2015. Going to give it some detailed small-grid interiors.

@MadHaTr :3 thanks for the interest! I don't usually update individual blueprints like this anymore, instead i post iterations to both preserve earlier work and compare them later on, as well as just doodling around without needing to hawk my blueprints. Someone should update this, I head about them on the KeenCommunityNetwork twitch stream replay today. I guess you can have a few of these ships in game and it runs well now. New tech in the ship would be cool.

Graphics... you mean for Workshop Screenshots? If so, well, i suppose it's high time to do that XD buuuut that ain't possible while i'm on rehab; i tried running SE on this laptop, it doesn't even reach the Main Menu before freezing the entire machine ^^ I'll keep it in mind though.

after finally building and setting up my new PC. i went back into the world where i had the upper and lower sections of the stardrive connected. they were both sitting around 20k on the physics limit scale. so i joined them together and did not have any problems. :steamhappy:

Loaded this world up and it slows my sim speed way down at first, but with good reason. This is an amazing build. Also, nice choice on the name... wrong universe tho lol

@GT351 i know, i know, poor baby has been broken for quite a while in Dev AND Stable now :( i've heard differing reports about solutions; for some turning her into a Station Grid via midspace's SE Toolbox program seems to work. Other than that we're waiting for a fix. Keen is aware of the problem and from what i can gather the Tapping has her own personal programmer trying to get her to load.

I hear he curses at her daily.

really want to check this ship out but game crashes when loading in a blueprint or loading the world, uses all my 16gb of ram. any tricks to get it to load?

Well, when the original Tapping ate my OLD computer i made sure the new one would be relevant for quite a while (3,5/8 Quadcore, 15 GB Ram, 4GB Graphics Card - can NOT wait for shoving all of that off to that last one!). Optimization has gone a long way, too. She's not running smooth or anything but performance most definitely isn't the reason for her slimmed down interior. That would be block count and physics.

@Rivvion good question. The Control Panel says 16 952 389 triangles on my Master File, which is pretty much unchanged to the update file.

The Saucer can be detached much the same way the canon design does, it doesn't just rip the Saucer off. The Saucer Seperation in Beyond looked more like a last-resort failsafe to safe the Saucer than the planned and intended regular use on the Galaxy Class. The Saucer is, sadly, not capable of navigating in natural gravity, but considering the almost complete lack of damage when falling from space this is a minor issue.

Ah! the galaxy class, making my computer lag to the point where the metal screeching sounds when i crash it repeat making a horrible sound in my ears. a very nice experience 10/10 would not give this to EA again :D

@McShafty This version of the ship is mod free ^^ but seeing how the final patch (at least for the release version) is drawing closer and closer every hour i'm already undertaking early research for the modded version. I'll keep this one on the backburner for now, thank you!

first off, wonderfull and ambitious project, I had similar issues with oxygen on a capitabuild ive been working on. through testing to find out what causes it. there is a limit to how much area can be presurised. the limit i found at the time is 35 blocks. to mitigate it in the largested rooms i used Sektan's invisible force field mod to create 'oxygen bulkheads'

Not counting the upcomming period of cleaning up the ship, it's interior and it's Control Panel (and MAYBE adding a tiny little bit of interior) i have today finished the last bits of Interior Lighting. I don't know if it's going to be the final update for the 3.1 phase of the project - but unless something goes catastrophically wrong there's going to be an update towards the weekend.

If everything goes according to plan (fingers crossed!) one of the last updates should happen end of the week...ish. Maybe. I've only got about twothousands blocks in my estimated block budget left (she likes to crash the game at 190k and i'm sitting at 188k blocks) and the interior is ALMOST done... but has no Interior Lights yet. Saucer Sep still works as of 188k, though, so that's a plus. I was tinkering with the idea of cutting that because the Separation has been giving me headaches lately when i tested it on a hunch. Also: i have to look into it when i'm done on the inside buuuuut there probably won't be any window lighting. It doesn't look good and i'm not sure if performance would allow it on a large scale. I can live without lit windows though i'm sad about dead Nacelles.

So i'm still technically considering myself in a break-period but i diddled a bit with the Secondary Hull tonight and i actually kinda like where this is going. Originally i wanted to construct a 45° corridor using Gravity Generators but i couldn't get it to work so now i'm using much more primitive simple slants with the old windows as stairs on one side. It's not fancy but it's quick, easy and reliable. Seems like the Secondary Hull will get three decks, plus maybe one in the Neck, not sure yet. I suppose most of the Secondary is going to be internal Thrusters and empty space. I was going to outfit it fancies but i've got the block limit behind my back and frankly i see it more as an FTL-slave for the Saucer these days. Mostly because the Saucer is basically complete, just needs a complete passover to do some minor tweaking that i'm admittedly simply too lazy for. I think, after almost 3000 hours of Space Engineers, i finally have to admit that i'm... getting bored with it.

However, there's an empty, earlier version of this ship on my Workshop page if you're interested. It's amazing how well it runs, your laptop might be able to handle her. She likes to devour RAM, though...

@Flori1994 About 167 000, give or take. I need to stay below 190 000, because at that point the game crashes. We don't know why; Keen says Havok can't handle the amount of blocks but i've successfully loaded up ships from other people with up to 380 000 blocks. I assume inventory blocks eat more Havok just like they eat more FPS and UPS than armor blocks.

Thank you :) She's giving me a fair bit of headache in the Secondary Hull and getting a corridor in the Neck going is a nightmare. And GTA V last week and Planets THIS week aren't helping XD Not sure i'll ever tackle Sovereign or Constitution, unfortunately, because there's breathtakingly beautiful versions on the Workshop already and when the Galaxy is done (IF it's ever done...) i want to refit my Cheyenne first.
OH and btw - if you want a modded one - download it, mod it and release it! I wanna see that!

This...this is truely beautiful. It is the most accurate exterior reproduction I've seen. It's a shame to not have mods in it but hopefully sometime in the future. I would love to see you put this level of love and detail into either the constitution or sovereign...

Sooo for you guys not in the know: myyyy PC broke early last week. Again. Thankfully it was only a RAM bar and it has been fixed by now, and i even managed to back up my SE-files. Maybe, haven't tested them yet. Updates will resume in the near future.
