@jj15trooper just copy cortex's cblaster xml and inventory image files and folder, replace the tex and rename them as yours.

Oh wait, i dont think thats the issue. It refers to xml files in images/inventory images , which aren´t there. How do I recreate them?

So I renamed the folders in exported, and deleted the zip files in anim, because it automatically recreates them with the renamed build. But still my game crashes. In the modmain, it refers to the files in the exported folder. Should I rename them to my new name?

@jj15trooper In exported folder you don't touch the folders names because the game searches and uses those names for animations. But you do save it as something unique when you save you spriter scml. You can also just rename the zip in anim folder like if you were clicking on the folder name and rename it like that along with the build using build renamer in that folder. Don't name it cblaster, clip, or swap_cblaster. Name all your stuff something unique so that if someone else has a mod with the same name, it won't crash and conflict.

How did you name the folders in the exported folder? I named them: "cblaster" "clip" and "swap_cblaster" I couldn´t figure it out from the files.

@jj15trooper You need Textools to open up the Tex files and turn then into a png file. It's provided here http://forums.kleientertainment.com/files/file/348-textool-v12/ you then use TexCreator reconvert them back into a tex file. Art programs you can either use GIMP, Painttool SAI, or Photoshop to edit or draw over it. As long as the program supports transparency. Even free online ones can do the job.

@jj15trooper The projectiles use the animation of the Staff_projectile as a base. You can find the spear anim and Tex pictures in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Don't Starve Together Beta\data\anim

The blaster uses the typical spear I drew over as a base. The coding was just some burrowed code I found in another mod on normal Don't Starve. I just modified it to be compatible with don't starve together, and added in some additional code to help make it more functional. I still need to remake the gun itself with it's own personal templete in spriter. But since I'm busy with other projects, I was unable to come back to this one and fix any coding errors. You're welcome to use the code, it's just you might need to decomplie your own art, since it's going to be a while since I come back to this one. ^^;

@RoboticMasterMind Hi, I´m currently creating a character mod , with an character that uses a blaster as his weapon. I spent a long time searching for a gun or blaster mod, but I was unable to find one. So I found your mod and looked through the files, to see how you´ve done it. It seems like you used a template for certain parts of it, and I wanted to ask which tutorial that was and if you could maybe send me the link to it. And if that isn´t the case, could you send me your exported folder, so I could modify your blaster, please? I´m not that good in modding, and I would be very happy if you´d help me. Thank you!

You don't have to credit people for inspiration. It's a nice gesture, maybe, but it's not like it's a crime. Because all in all - you could slam L4D for being 'inspired' by Resident Evil, since it was the first ever Zombie game, which was probably inspired by White Zombie, as it was the first ever Zombie film, which was inspired by The Magic Island, the first ever Zombie novel. See what I am getting at? At no point -should- people credit those who inspire them, as that's not how credit or inspiration works.

@xxM0rtexx So this means people should credit me for all the fnaf mods they made on the workshop, especially the ones that copied from me? Because you sound like the person who made the crash mod is someone who owns the crash fanchise. I bet if someone decided they wanted to make something from the Ratchet franchise, suddenly they must credit me too. Look, if I blatently copied them and had used their code and made this mod exactly like theirs then it'll be worth mentioned but everything in this mod is not from their mod at all. I made this whole mod without even eyeballing their code at all. Crash is a game with not much to it, crates, masks, and boss fights. I saw a crash mod, and was like, hey there needs to be cortex. So I made cortex. Cortex is owned by activision, so is Crash. I did however mentioned the crash mod existing, that should be enough, unless said person wants to link mods.

@xxM0rtexx it's not really a copy to be honest. It's supposed to be similar because it was meant to be, but everything in it works complete differently. It's cortex, he has a mask like crash AND gets ammo from crates in the games, he is crash's opposite. If I wanted to copy the crash mod I would had made Uka Uka equippable instead of a follower and made a edible item for him. I would had made his stats similar too. What I find silly is that you'd think I'd go through so much trouble to copy things when all my mods are usually videogame characters already made by companies, not someones OC and with different effects I thought of but if I simply try to put a crate in it, it suddenly a horrible copy despite it being a ammo crate found in twinsanity.

last time cortex didnt had uka uka and when i was equiping my blaster it was teleporting to my friends and the blaster ammo glitched 1 of my slots are they fixed?

i joined a friends server with this mod and played him and everytime i try to pick it up it spawns to the host and he cant use it either pls help

@who the fuck His blaster is a little bit glitchy at times xD I still have to work on the ammo being invisible on the ground. But I should be able to fix it very soon since I found out what the problem was with things disappearing when dropped.

Adding to Vladibear, the thing was that i could not craft any ammo.
I mean. I did CRAFT IT, but it didn't appear anywhere, so my gun kept teleporting to my pal.
Not a big issue, but i hella wanna annihilate things.

The mod is awesome though, i just LOVE IT, i love every little aspect of it. Little bit of quirky unique dialogue lines would fit perfectly, but i ain't demanding or anything. Awesome work, buddy!

Yesterday we played on the server with Cortex mod, and my friend (as a Cortex) had a problem that he couldn't equip his blaster, everytime he tried to equip it, it appeared near hosting character. When he put blaster in his backpack, he could carry it, but equiping, teleported blaster to host. What's the problem?

@Turtles~ They didn't make this mod, so why should I give credit. I made this mod because I wanted to play as cortex using a similar style.
Credits are for people who contribute towards the making of the mod, being inspired is different >.>
So I'll kinda ask to stop with the attitude problem on my mod. Thank you. Plus I already put in the description, I was inspired since there is a crash mod.

Dude you're just taking all the ideas from the guy who created the Crash Bandicoot Mod (MOnster Sandvich). The guy who made the Crash Mod has: 1. Custom Ghost. 2. Mask (Aku Aku). 3. Map icon for an item. 4. Custom crates for food. At least write his name on the credits. Jeez...

A few weeks back I was wondering who Wilson reminded me of so much and then I suddenly remembered just in time for the catchy theme music of all of the old Crash Bandicoot games to blast into mind. It's great to see Cortex as a playable character.

@Keel I recently have fixed the container crashing the server problem. I'm at the moment now trying to figure out why the blaster is invisible when on the ground. But overall I have fixed most of the instability problems with the gun and will update this mod in a few hours. In the future I might make the gun more complex by adding the container to store ammo. But for the moment it seems to be working fine now in the inventory. ^^

@RoboticMasterMind So, I decided to try the mod, with all others disabled, on a local server. It worked until i tried to open the blaster while it was in my inventory. I did however, take a screenshot of the error code that popped up if you think it will help you out

@Keel that happens at random sometimes. I've gotten the same error before, and I really don't know the exact cause of it, but I think it has something to do with how many mods are activated on the server and due to how unstable this mod is. It doesn't like being enabled with too many mods on until I fix the blaster problem. This is what I'm guessing.
