One question if I may, is there any chance you could give us a picture of your maps please, so we could maybe try to plan things out a bit when starting out etc :)
1) Yes if you have one of the "all areas purchaseable" mods. There is a lake surrounded by insanely high mountains where you can put a dam producing high MW. It's the side where the bridges cross a deep gorge. There's just one bend that enters the 32 square area (I moved the bend there on purpose)
2) If you don't have one of those mods, I had that in mind from the beginning, but it just spoiled the nice views and looked unrealistic.
3) The next map "Emerald Shore" (Irish!), which is almost done, has a ridiculously fast river with an area for a hydro dam near the center of the map. I'm making a series of maps on the same theme. I think the landscapes I have seen across Ireland, Scotland and Norway are amazing. I still have to test the map, but I think if you follow me you will know when it comes out.
Highland Fjord is my first map. I started off with Tropical... thinking I would do a nice island, and by the time I put a LOT of work into it, it had changed into something else No going back after that :D I did remove all the palm trees, though (unless you found a stray?) Anyhow, hope you will like "Emerald Isle"!
