I don't mean to be rude, your maps are almost perfect but why do you keep sticking the intersection right in the middle of the starting tile on everyone of them? It takes up a sizable chunk of your starting tile. If it ended just as it crosses the river this would be the best map I've seen.

Love the map, but I had a problem with one of the canals on the starting tile reversing water flow direction which caused my water pumps to be downstream from my waste pumps

Strangely, this map gives me an "out of range" error when at the beginning of loading? Can you please check it is still working ok with the recent update?

hi, I really like your Dutch maps, i have a request tho, could you make a map that is more like the far east of the Netherlands (twents, achterhoeks, sallands?), i know that in you Huygenswaard map you interoperated some of that, but an entire map would be very nice.

This is the best city I built before the garbage caused my city to die.
vigyorka007 22 May, 2015 @ 3:20am
Can you modify it to europaen style?
ifatson 19 May, 2015 @ 10:55am
The round building in the screenshot is the stadium from Drosovila: http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=442001155

Expecting for your new maps! The canals in the city of Amsterdam are very complex, it might be a challenging for both you and the mayors. Must be fun anyway!

I also like the suburb like city with old town style. Maybe you are interesting in making some more map, like Delft ?
Zakerias  [author] 19 May, 2015 @ 9:28am
@ifatson, I'm glad you like it! Your port area looks great! And the city center looks very Dutch. :) What's the round building in the bottom left on your screenshot?

Also, I'm thinking about reworking some of the more popular maps for the European theme. Or I might just make new maps for the European theme. (They've added the Paleis op de Dam, so maybe I'll do Amsterdam). I'm already working on a new one, which will hopefully be done this evening.
ifatson 19 May, 2015 @ 8:50am
BTW, the official update have included a European theme, will you updated these masterpieces for the new theme?

Definitely one of the best maps on workshop sofar. I used this to build a Dutch riverside city, it looks just right! Thanks for sharing! Ive added a little favor with canal digging, here's a screensot: http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=443860127

I just start building my city with this map. I love your raised highway, it's not realistic yes, but it saves me lots of time and $ since you did most of the work for me already, I do use raised highways in my cities. So mucho cheers to you.
Zakerias  [author] 1 May, 2015 @ 10:24am
@lastadolkG, yeah I agree, the elevated higway in the centre is not very logical. That's why I kept the incoming highways on ground level. But for this map I wanted to prevent ships clipping through the bridges. Therefore, it was either a strangely steep and long ramp toward the bridges or a section of elevated highway. And since I was planning to build along the elevated highway anyway, it didn't bother me as much.

Thanks, I really appreciate your feedback :) I'll keep it in mind for my next map.

Great map: good looking, lots of potential to create a beautiful urban and farm areas. I have 1 critique: the highway. Why is the highway elevated throughout the whole map?

As a civil engineer, this is not very realistic: the cost of you making something elevated at that extension for no reason, doesnt make it viable.... Ok, you can say when you grow your city, you can make roads passing under it, but the fact that the highway is there before the growth of the city doesnt justify it being elevated.

I would like a version of this map that the highway is just on ground level. Do note that I like to make the city as realistic as possible, but some people simply dont care about these things. It's not something that breaks the map, just a little detail that would make me more happier. ;)

Congrats on your map

I love the detail and backstory behind your maps. I've played Huygenswaard a lot, but I might have found a new favourite with this one. Keep up the good work!
