I just had an idea about an alternative way to determine the price, hope you don't mind me putting it here (maybe you'll like the idea ;) ).
How about using the players faction reputation to adjust the price instead? Eg, 120,000Cr - (rep x 3)%. So if your faction rep is '12' the price would be 120,000 - 36% = 76800 Cr. If your faction rep is high, like high twenties the price would be quite cheap. If it's low it'll be pricey. If your rep is below 0 you wouldnt be able to get it as they wont talk to you. (I think they should add another way to get trade agents on hostile stations by hacking a specific module - like 'Bureau Security' or something).
Anyways, thank you for the mod!
which looks pretty standard for MK3 software prices, alot of the MK3 stuff is super expensive lol. but when you got a trade empire going, whats a measily 50 mil? :P
gets you the trade manager.
I usw the other mod witch is good so far.
the price ia very high and as im still in starting hours I cant really afford it at this timw.
The idea to do a 100% scan and then be able to make a connection with a trader seems ( to me ) verry fair. The price is something to think about aldo I think that the scanning is perfect as it is.
A player that hase a already good hours in the game won't mind the price.
For beginners this mod looks ( have not tested ) verry usefull!
For the 3e mod being a item or some sort for auto connection with a trader.
that seems verry interesting and the price for such a usefull object can be high indeed.
its a powerfull tool I wonder what ( thats if you going for it ) you can up with :D
@JD I welcome feedback and ideas. As for the automated version, I don't know it's kind of a massive cheat. Maybe if there is some sort of equipment involved that comes at a high price, say something along the lines of 10x the price of the highest vanilla scanner (ie. around 5m) and maybe even have some sort of recurring cost whenever it automatically scans/unlocks something for you.
Something that might be worthwhile is looking into a third version that automatically subscribes you to trade offers of any sector you fly into or alternatively when you identify the station. This'd bring it closer to the previous X games and also feel a little more realistic in my eyes, once you identify a station is a metal refinery it'd make sense for your traders to know to check out its prices when looking for metal and etc.
Thanks for the mod regardless. ^^
Looking at TAF (which I didn't know existed before you pointed it out), it has fixed costs and hooks into the conversation for multiple different traders on the stations.
This simply uses the Trade Manager which you can contact from pretty much anywhere in the universe afaik, even though it still doesn't make a difference as it's coded so that you have to be in the same zone to do anything.
Personally I was just tired of the smalltalk minigame so I created this small "mod" as I didn't knew something alike already existed. Feel free to use whichever you wish.
