The reason why this mod started working after being renamed with a "ZZZ" at the beginning was not because it became the last in alphabetical order but because the game didn't recognize it anymore and therefore it appended it as the last activated mod on its list.
This means that renaming the mod yeah it works, but you'll have to rename it again each time you download a new custum civ that uses SQL to set its favorite religion.
I fear it would be just too much for me to fix the priority with every single custom Civ in existence.
MODS should be loaded in alphabetical order, so renaming this one with something like "ZZZ" in the beginning of the name would give it priority over everything else, But I'd need to make some tests.
Anyway, I've found what I think was the issue and fixed it. As a matter of facts the mod didn't have anything wrong, but an updated version of the "Historical Religions" mod created a conflict.
If you still have problems, that means there's yet another mod that creates a conflict. In that case try and figure out which it is and I'll remedy to that.
precisely I do not know of any mods crashes.question:
is compatible your mod Favorite Religion Randomizer with other religious mod????
crashes occur in connection with small towns at their request distribution of my adopted religion!
It is fairly easy if you know how to change XML files.
You may want to check my other mod "Default Strange Religions" and look into its XML to see how it's done.
But you may never know, one day you might find yourself wanting to play some more Civ V games.
Assigning a random preference via sql is possible and that's what this mod does. The actual religion selection however happens on C++ level and it's impossible to mod without recompiling the entire core DLL.
I am curious if Civ Religion preference can be deleted so civs would choose religion completely randomly (once your mod is enabled). Or can you assign random religion to each civ with sql?
It works well as long as you can play a game continuously, but upon saving the game only saves the "ID" of the religion and not its "type". So once you reload you can either reload with the mod (which would randomize the religions again) or without (which means the religion will have their default ID). In either case you'll see the civs that founded religions before, including yourself, having completely different religions that you remembered.
So this is not a viable option, not via SQL. However I might have found a way to solve the problem through another method.
I have played civilization since civ. III and was wondering if there is a lobby room like civ. III had where people got together for online games. I have only seen people posting messages for games. Can you take certain mods and add them together for one mod so that I would not have to keep remembering what mods was used on my saved games. I find using the same mods on the loads is simplier and there is no conflicts.
