Also, the singular jumpscare isn't the only horror aspect of this map. There are a couple times where you'll randomly hear footsteps and some doors opening and closing, which I feel like is a lot more tasteful. There's also apparently some black figures that briefly appear, though I have yet to actually come across them myself, so those are also probably done subtlety enough.

While I don't blame people who want to steer clear away from maps that have a probability of giving them a heart attack, I kind of feel like Darkstar's comment is too harsh considering that the author at least had the courtesy of mentioning that there was a jumpscare in the description. Although granted, there are better ways of handling horror than using jumpscares.

Was about to try this map until I read the description.

I don't know what it is with assholes like you adding unnecessary scary crap to maps EVERYONE wants to enjoy. If the scary stuff wasn't there, I would try this, but you've pretty much ruined the map by adding it in.

@Vona To be fair, it's not super feasible to have multiple bodies of expensive water within the same map if they're at different heights. You'd have to make sure that each of those pools with differing heights are in separate PVSs and that only one pool at a time is visible, which is probably easier said than done.

Although, I will say that they could have gone with one of the cheap water textures that have support for cubemaps instead of using what seems to be an ultra cheap water texture.
